Is The Original Ms Dashboard Universal To All Xbox

This is conflicting stories on this.  Some work and some do not on other's Xboxes...

I don't think anyone is sure why just yet...

Best thing to do is "try" if you need to...

I've seen dashboards posted in newsgroups BTW if you need one.

So far, at least as far as I can tell...

You can interchange Xbox dash boards with the mod chip enabled.

Once you disable the mod chip you merely need a dashboard from the same "rev" motherboard you originaly had.

E.G. If your motherboard had a 4034 sticker, you need a 4034 dashboard.

Take any two same rev Xboxes and download the XBE file and you'll find that the dashboards compare perfectly.

Someone else here pointed this out initially.

if you got the evox dash installed, i think it tells you there. just look for a number like 4034. also, if you wanted, you could open up your xbox and there will be a sticker with the number on it.

Your probably using a bios replacement mod, which is based of the 4034 kernel. That's why EvoX would say that.

If you purchased the xbox on the first day, then you have a 3944 revision.

Also, these boxes have the 3944 sticker on the Hard Drive itself.
