some of the ripped (scene releases) games wont run from the HDD but all original games ive tried have worked successfully.

I've yet to find a "scene release" that didn't work flawlessly from the hdd.. Of coarse that being on other people's xbox's, I buy all my games.. *cough*.. Anyways... If a game does futz up, try remoiving ther ethernet cable.. There's been a game or 2 that crashes if it's in.

Only because:

1 - XISO is buggy and they used it to create the CD/DVD
2 - The RIP was missing files or had crosslinked directories
3 - The ISO image had erroneous blocks w/o CRC's because it was recorded in RAW mode
4 - Errors in the packing of the original CRC to RAR files
5 - The files in the rip were sent thru a network link which induced errors during xfer

Hmmm... looks like "user" end/side errors.
