Ok, first the obvious...

You did format the drive with Evolution-X right?

Assuming you did...

What you are NORMALLY seeing is that the Xbox is having a problem reading the DVD/CD that you are using.

This error message seems to be a "catch all".

If you've burned from an ISO download, quite probably the download was created improperly or poorly.

You MIGHT have better luck by unpacking the original ISO image using one of the Xbox ISO extractors (UDFEXTRACT is wonderful!) then FTP'ing the files to your Xbox.

You might also want to burn yourself a new one using RecordNowMax, because the CD you have is not good.

There are a couple of Exceptions to the above, (Conflict Desert Storm, and the original PX-Chase release), but every other program works fine using boXploder to place it on the HD.

BTW: This is a great test of your Backups! I've double checked all of mine this way, and threw away 3-5 of them because of what you've seen. All are working now.

The games I was backing up are original, but Listening to the previos advice that the " insufficeint space error " is a catch all. I cleaned up the game with a cloth, it had many scratches. Now I was able to back it up to f:\games\* . Im going to assume that the xbox dvd had problems reading some sectors of the dvd abd gave that error. Thanks for the help!

QUOTE (aocraft @ Oct 2 2002, 02:00 AM)
I too had that same error with tony hawks 3
The original copy. I was making a copy of it so I can lend the game to my friend.

I still havn't been able to get it on using boXplorer.
If anybody else has used boXplorer to backup tony hawks on there HDD can they please tell us???
Is there a limit to what boXplorer can copy????
I will have to try using xbcopy. But I found that tool to be a little buggy

It copies fine, if the Xbox DVD can read the disk.

Yeah, the Xbox DVD reader is unusually twitchy about dirt, scratches, etc.

This may also be in part due to the modified DVD bios on a drive that may have not been designed to track backwards originally.
