I have a 100 base T network with my xbox and router...problem is my transfer speeds in flashfxp is around 350kbs..is there anyway to improve this? I turned of passive mode and it helped me a little..Friend of mine is getting 2500kbs

I get about 400 kb/sec

I can go in multiple threads, then I get bout 900, but this causes the games to freeze...

So I just use one thread and takes about 20 mins or so... for 700 megs

Im getting 2,5MB/s but i heard ppl have 7,5MB/s and faster , well i got a SMC NIC and a 3COM one, i tried both and i get same speeds,

if i send files from my pc to server , i get about 8MB/s , i got both on automatic tranfer method, if i choose 100/Full duplex my speeds drop to 900k,

it would be great if you could choose which transfermethod you want on xbox , its full duplex standard!

if there is anyway to improve the speed , i would like to know

I've just got a cheap Nexgamer 10/100 card and standard cat 5 crossover cable and using flashFXP i'm getting over 8mb/s (transfered 3gigs from xbox to pc in 6 mins).

The only settings that i've changed in anything was to set the ip on the nic.
Everything else I left alone.

Dang, how the hell come I only get 400 kb/sec?

I use a Realtek PCI nic and just a crossover cable for direct connection to the XBox

Here's my setup...

I have an Athlon XP+ 1800 PC, running a 3Com 100MBit NIC, with crossover lead to Xbox.

If you need to change the way it operates, the type "100/Full Duplex" is not governed by the Xbox, it's governed by the PC. Get into network connections, properties of your network card, look for "media type". Change this to what you need!

Mine is "Auto", according to Xbox it's 100/Full Duplex,

My xfer rates are thus: -

Download - 7.8MB/s < x < 9.0MB/s
where x can deviate between those two values

and

Upload - 3.0MB/s < x < 4.0MB/s

I just went into my NIC properties....

Under Advanced, then Line Speed is where I want to be right?

Anyway it is set to TP Half Duplex....

But TP Full Duplex is available, will try it out later on


Edit: Damn, Only get about 60 kb/sec in full duplex!

Yeah, i'm getting the 8mb+ when copying either to or from the xbox hard drive, but even when going direct from xbox dvd drive i'm still getting between 1 1/2 and 2mb per sec.

Which means that something is not right if you are only getting 400k.

Hopefully someone can offer a proper answer

I just put my WD 120 gb directly in the xbox... although when i ran flashfxp i would only get speeds about 1-2 megs / s... installed webdrive a couple of days ago and since then the speeds hasn´t been under 7 megs / s

I get 2.3Mbytes/s 23.3Mbits/s pc to xbox, I think this sux. What is everybody else getting? Please distinguish between bits and bytes please. If somebody is getting 7Mbytes/s, please reply on your setup.

I am on an linksys 100 Mbit network, 25 foot standard cat 5 cables throughout.

I'm using a Linksys Router with DHCP, I'm lucky to get 700kb/sec.

Do you guys think it's the router?  The router is 10/100.  And my connection is showing 100.  I'm traveling right now, but these posts of 7mb/sec are driving me crazy.  As soon as I get home I'm going to start tweaking.  Can people who are using Routers and DHCP let me know what their max transfer rates are?

hello, i've also tried everything, auto ip, static ip, PC 100 full, PC 100 half, nothing helped. My upload from PC to Xbox is max. 500kb/s, my download is max. 3500kb/s.

i tried it with crossed link direct connection, then via 100M/bit hub, nothing helps. shit, now i use hdloader to fit the games on my boxHD, but then u need the DVD or CdRW, it's useful to extract iso.s and then put them from PC HD to box HD, with max. 450 - 500kb/s this takes a long time....shit. Anyway, i am glad that everything works well, besides the upload speed everything is perfect......

I have tested WSFTP Pro, full speed...3.5 to 4 MB/s...not bits...mega bytes...fast.  Other working software I have tested: ncftp (linux), gftp (linux).  All of these transfer to my Xbox at 40 to 50 Mbps or approx 3.5 to 4.x MB/s megabytes per second.  So...I suggest trying a different FTP program...in windows...try WSFTP...the LE version is free.  The different hard drives that were replaced, the BIOS revisions, the duplex mode (within reason) was not the problem...it was only the client software used.
