Psu Problem
« on: February 08, 2006, 11:16:00 AM »

On a v1.3 XBox the Delta PSU acts a bit strange.

When I got the 'box on my desk is was shutting down occasionaly at random intervals (sometimes after hours of playing) I checked the voltages with my Fluke meter: the 12v line was 10.5v, the 5v line was 4.1.. a bit on the low side so I turned the potmeter a bit till the 12v line was reading 11.8v  (a notch further was 12.3 but 11.8v should be fine too) 5V was 4.9.

All looked fine and tested the xbox for at least 5 hours... and sold the xbox (with warranty ofcourse)

2 days later the guy calls me that the Xbox is dead... not responding to the on or eject. So He came to my house and I swapped the PSU for a spare one.. Xbox was fine again.

I stuck the PSU in another 'box and... still dead, I turned the pot a notch and the xbox come on again...

Is the Pot flaky or is this caused by somehting else?
