Is there a way to change the background pics and loading pics on evolution-x without having to use a computer? i dont have a crossover cable so the only way i would be able to do this is if there is a way to burn the pics and what ever else i need to a cdrw and then install them to the hard drive.

there is a handy little app which does most of the work for you
look for it in the download section or something

anyway I done it without crossover and it was easy... make the pics up, find out what the correct size should be (640 x 480 I think), save them as .jpg

load up the app, name the skin... then you use the browse option and you to get your skin up (you can also have a launch skin).
then you can select your font colour and stuff like that

once you're done you can save the .ini file it created, now you put the .ini file and skin/s into the skin folder you unpacked from the evox zip, you will see the others there... you have to create a new folder inside the skin folder like the rest, name it correctly

use boxplorer... select D drive, find the folder you created which contains your skin, copy it onto the skin folder on your C drive
if you done it correctly you should be able to select it, if the original skin comes up that means you have names something wrong

I think the .ini file should be similar to this
skin folder is named bungle main skin is called bungle, launch skin is called loading (for example, name what you like)

main- ...skins/bungle/bungle
launch- ...skins/bungle/launch

hope this helps, it may sound confusing but it'll make a bit more sense once you have that application

shit I didn't need to explain that

you need to look at your .ini file
where it says 'main' there are 2 names... the first is the name of the folder the pics and .ini file should be in, the second is the pic name
launch is similar

make sure you have this right, I think you'll have to create a folder and name it correctly

copy the whole folder across into the skins folder in your C drive

Ok i tried making a folder calle skin and i tossed in the three files that i downloaded from an xbox skins site, but it still didnt work, then i got adventures and removed the menu.ini and replaced it with the skin.ini........big mistake.....i could no longer get into boxexplorer, but thankfully i backed up that file on the xbox c: backup folder, and just used a cd to get back into boxplorer.........so now im back to squre one, and i still cant get it to show skins.....i might also add that i used GOLDBERGMODS.ISO to install evo-x with everything already done......could that be why im having so much trouble changing anything?

are you using the newest evox?  sounds to me like your using the old build that doesn't support skins.

- the new evox already has a skin folder
- the new evox doesn't use the menu.ini, uses evox.ini

so you made a folder called skin and put them in that?
that may be your mistake

it has to match your .ini file, your .ini will tell you what the folder should be names... I dunno how how to explain it properly but there is a line that says main- blahblahetc... it will have the folder name then the pic name
name the folder EXACTLY the same as the name you see (if you post your ini I can tell you what to name the folder.

also... you can't just burn them to a disc and expect it to work, create an iso using xiso and burn that to CR-RW... I use discjuggler too, nero never works for me.

use boxplorer, select D drive and copy your folder onto the HDD
