what adjustments do you guys makes to the evox.ini before putting it in the C drive of your xbox?

because I know I did 2 adjustments to the old evolutionX in the menu.ini

the evox.ini is the exact same thing as the menu.ini in the old evolutiox right?

and also to upgrade to the new evolutionX do I need to do anything to my xboxdsh.xbe (which I got from the old EvolutionX ISO  previously called default.xbe) and do I need to make any changes to the Msxboxdash.xbe (which is the original xboxdash.xbe)

Menu.ini is now Evox.in same thing

msxboxdash.xbe is the original MS dash whish should be called that so you can link to it from evox dash

The evox default.xbe is only called this when booting from cd copy to the c/ drive and rename to xboxdash.xbe to boot from HDD. over write the old one

Hope that helps

Yeah I know the msxboxdash.xbe is to have the original and xboxdash.exe is the one from evo but my question is can I use the same ones or do I have to use the default.xbe and erase my old one which is know called xboxdash.xbe can I just leave the old one and delete the menu.ini and put the evox.ini?

and what do you edit in the evox.ini before you put in in your hardrive?

   Item "Reboot",@5
   Item "Power Off",@10
   Section "System Utils"
   {
      Item "Settings",@9
      Item "Flash BIOS",@1
      Item "Backup",@11
      Item "Skins",@13
#      Section  "Install Menu"
#      {
#         Item "Install 4043",@210
#         Item "Action 11",@211

I am thinking I need to edit Item   "MS Dashboard",@3

you have to put the new default.xbe into the c drive of the xbox and rename it to xboxdash.xbe overwriting the original evox xboxdash.xbe, then reboot the xbox.  then you shouldn't have any problems, you shouldn't have to adjust the evox.ini at all just to see the main screen of the new evox dashboard, you will however have to xfer the evox.ini file over the c drive of the xbox also though.  the old menu.ini file doesn't do anything once this is done, so forget about it.

Can I also replace the menu.ini with evox.ini before I reboot it?

no, you will leave the evox.ini named exactly that, just xfer it to your c drive of you xbox i have both the evox.ini and the menu.ini on my xbox c drive, but the menu.ini is useless with the evox.ini

whay not leave the menu.ini and rename it to something like Exboxdash.xbe (EvoX old), have msxboxdash.xbe (original) , and xboxdash.xbe (evo X new) put a link to the old evox and have both evo x's installed? that way if 1 doesnt work you can change it whenever you like

i suppose you could do that, but why would you want to, the new dashboard has all the features of the old plus more.  if you did do that i think you would rarely find yourself going back to the old dashboard.  if you do it, let me know if it works though, thanx trent666

the new dashboard is odd and would be harder for newbies to connect too (and understand) - on the old evo x there is no need to change to static and no need to supply a password. also there is a menu editing GUI rather than needing to use notepad and i like the old one better, the only new feature that i do like is being able to connect 4 times simultaneously instead of 1. everything else can be done very simply on the old dash. besides the skins of course but i never sit there staring at the skins do you guys?

also i dunno about you other guys but (and all guides ive seen say this) 192.168.000.001 / 002 did not allow my PC to connect i had to change the IP slightly in order to connect. i dunno why but it took me 3 days to work it out, myabe there is a difference in PAL and NTSC - i dunno.

Hey guys I mastered it you can connect to the new one using the excact same ip's I used 198.162.0.2 in my old one and also in my new one

what do you mean you can connect 4 time simultaneusly?

if ANYONE has problem upgrading from the old one to the new one add me to MSN messenger I guarantee I can get yours to work

[email protected]

only if you were able to connect to the old one but can't connect to the new one

you can connect with 4 differnet programs cant ya at the same time i mean so if you dont have xbcopy you can connect twice and transfer from cd to Xbox HDD without needing to go from cd to PC HDD to Xbox HDD
