Don't patch with this if you plan on running on normal xbox... games would not run (or run at half speed)

DJB: It shouldn't effect your xbe's, but if you don't have a DX it will not do anything to benefit you so there is no need to use this patch.

It's just an idea that I come up with after seeing this program was released, and since I plan on releasing this soon I figured it would be handy for the DreamX users.

Just wondering (since I've used this program a few times now), what EXACTLY are the 4 bytes that are overwitten in the XBE? What are their locations and what value is being written to it?

so far no flaws to report running DX patched files on a normal 733.

Files that I successfully patched:

UnleashX-XBMC-Evox3935-ConfigMagic-Enigmah NTSC/PAL-etc.etc.

Files unsuccessful.

Xselect-anything linux.

They boot fine on a normal 733 too, gonna take it to a friends place who has a DreamX and give it a test drive hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

Post  about any cpu configuration you have in your xbox

i would like to know the effect of different socket 370 cpu's, Speed (733-1.4 or better) w/ different cache

sizes(128/256/512), fsb(66/100/133), and voltages/ in a dreamx xbox. The 512k cache ones may reqire an

additional adpter to support them. (buy easy ebay)

Ive tried the celeron 1400mhz, and a sl3xy pentium 3 733/256/133/1.65v. (It's to late tonight for me to check and see what the celerons exact stuff is. but if u post i will open the beast up and get the information.)

with the pentium 3 733mhz, i had a few discoveries. videos in games freeze about every 3 to 7 sec (sound is also lost for a second or 2) then it continues normal in menus and gameplay. i think it tries to keep from going to fast. The dx patch and cpu switch does not fix this. when you do have the switch set to standard you can see and feel the slow down. jagged edges and slower contoller response looks terrible (i usually use halo 2 when testing).

the 1400mhz celeron when swicthed to standard or turbo u really don't notice the difference. the dx patch fixes most crazzy fast games, but still a few play crazzy fast. it dose fix like all movies from playing crazzy fast though.

i'd really like to know if there are any cpu's that work like the normal xbox for games that run crazzy fast still with the dx patch. if they play normal when the switch is set to  standard and run faster when set to turbo. Tell exact cpu used if you have a cpu that works like this  thanks!

I'd also like to know if anybody has tried a cpu with 512k cache and if apps or game quality is better.

also just post test done with any 370 cpu, cache, speed, voltages, fsb, differences when switched (standard\turbo) xbox version anything that show improvements o thexbox games or apps

and how do u turn the write ove text thing off like when i'm typeing and then delete something and change a word it deletsthe wos in front of it! AAAHHH!

i resently put a p3 1400/512/133 in my dreamx 1480,  the 133mhz bus i think causes the dx patch not to work correctly videos sometimes sound and gameplay freeze and continue weird , without pacth the games that did work with oiut the [patch had better improvement halo picture quality way better almost looks better than when on the 360 no jagged edges stuff dosen't apear and disapear no laggy game play cool

if somebody could get me the 4 bytes the dxpatch uses i could make my xbox run perfect with the fastest socket 370 cpu out there

Nope, Friendtech stopped offering them a couple years ago.  Your only hope is to buy one second-hand.  (Or third-, fourth-, etc...)

If you want to sell your Xbox-related items, you must use the Xbox B/S/T forum.

Also, since this thread has served its purpose, it's now closed.
