What's the IP address of your Computer?  I needs to be 192.168.1.<something other than 1, less than 255> othwise the two devices won't be able to talk.

i had the exact same problem with this. So this is what you have to do:

1) Get old Evox and burn onto Cd-rw or Dvd,
2) Wait until it boots up, then select network on old evox.
3) Connect to the IP with FlashFxp, then go under C:\ drive on Xbox.
4) Locate a file called Evox.ini, transfer on to your PC hardrive.
5) Open Evox.ini stored on Pc hardrive with Notepad.
6) Then find this text in the Evox.ini file and change the text to match it.

[Network]

SetupNetwork   = Yes
StaticIP                   = Yes
Ip      = 169.254.101.6
Subnetmask   =
Defaultgateway   =
DNS1      = 0.0.0.0
DNS2      = 0.0.0.0

7) Once completed changing text, save the file as Evox.ini.
8) Still connected to the xbox or if not use old evox cd or dvd to connect transfer the evox.ini which you just altered on to the C:\ of the Xbox.
9) It will pop up with "do you wish to over write" select overwrite.
10) Once completed tranferring file close Flashfxp and reboot Xbox. if done correctly it will work. Done

Well for one thing your default gateway shouldn't be set to 255.255.255.0. That is what you set your subnet mask to.
Set your system up like this:
XBox IP 192.168.100.2
PC 192.168.100.3
Default Gateway: 192.168.100.1
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Props to Plugitt for his post on getting the network to work. I could not connect no matter what when I had a subnet mask and gateway entered.

As soon as I cleared them and set Static = Yes, everything worked fine.

For clarification, I tried setting Static = Yes before and it didn't work. I had to clear those two entries as such:

[Network]

SetupNetwork   = Yes
StaticIP                   = Yes
Ip      = 192.168.0.103
Subnetmask   =
Defaultgateway   =
DNS1      = 0.0.0.0
DNS2      = 0.0.0.0

Thanks again Plugitt!
