Has anyone else experienced this problem? We have modded 4 Xboxs so far and everything works great. We recently upgraded the bios on 2 of them to EvolX 2.3. They originally had extender 1.1 bios on them. (They are all home brew chips.) We had no problem at all. Heres where we run into the problem.
Last night we modded 2 more Xboxs for a couple of friends. As a test we tried a newly burned backup game and it worked (Spiderman TDK CDRW). Then another (DOA3 TDK CDRW) Then We tried a DVD and it worked as well. Even the swap trick gave us no problem. BUT-- we put in a newly burnt EvolutionX CD (TDK CDRW) and it wouldnt recognize the CD at all on either newly soldered Xboxs. At first I though maybe we got a bad burn. So I hooked up one of my other xboxs (Same Bios) and the CD worked perfectly. Its only on the 2 new Xboxs that everything works except the EvolutionX CD. Can anyone think of anything we are doing wrong or that we can try? I dont think its the media because everything else works with the same media from the same spindle.
We tried the complex 1.02 retail bios on a couple of the older Xboxs last week. And it worked perfectly except it didnt recognize the DVD playback kit. Thats why we are using Evolx2.3.
