Evox Problems...
« on: August 17, 2002, 09:15:00 AM »

ok, i rented two games from blockbuster (rally cross and yakuza) and tried to copy them using FlashFXP.

Rally Cross copied fine to my pc and back to the xbox.

When i copied yakuza, it looked ok at first.  I started copying the files to the pc and left (it takes a while).  When i came back, most of the files had copied, but some were at 0 bytes.  There was some error message from flashfxp.

I deleted and tried again.  This time my xbox locked (had to hard start it) and no files copied.  I rebooted everything and tried again.  I had a little trouble connecting to the xbox, but finally got it working.

Now i see the dvd in the drive but it was not the same as before.  The total was like 18 megs or so and no subdirectories!

Any ideas on what went wrong and what i can do?

Thanks

Best thing to do with Flash is to changed the settings for file exists options to say that it auto overwrites if the file is smaller or larger than the one on your PC and auto skip for ones that are the same.

Then just reselect the files and dirs from the Xbox and copy them over again.
If a file was missed during the first transfer then this should get them.

You find these setting under the Options menu.

thanks for the tips...

heres a similar problem i get.  When transferring a queue, i'll get this message:

425 Can't open data connection to 192.168.0.100:31251 (the :31251 varies)

192.168.0.100 is my PC's ip address 192.168.0.101 is the xbox.

I usually have to disconnect, reconnect and resume the queue.  Sometimes it will transfer a lot of files before this happens, but sometimes it'll only be like 20 or 30 files.

Sometimes after this happens, i cannot reconnect.  If i check my xbox, it will be locked up at the EvoX main screen.  I have to turn off and turn back on to make it work again.

Plz help!

also, sometimes when it locks up and i have to restart....

When i browse to the dvd all i see is a directory that says video_ts and about 20 megs of files inside.  It usually takes several restarts to make this disappear.

Secondly, i get a sustained rate of around 11,000kps when i use CuteFTP.  I usually maxed at 2500k with FlashFXP..

Use XBCopy to copy directly from xbox DVDrom to xbox hdd, then use flashfxp afterwards just to rename the folder that xbcopy made when it copied the game.
