I have a 120 GB drive with a little over 85 GB free and don't have any problems with games crashing.  I don't have Odd World so I can't say anything about that one but none of mine have crashed yet.  Here is a list of the games I have on the box:

Halo
DOA3
NCAA 2003
Genma Onimusha
Fifa soccer
World Series Baseball
Air Force Delta
Crazy Taxi 3

Quake 2

Genesis Roms and Emulator
NES Roms and Emulator
Snes Roms and Emulator

Seasons 1 and 2 of SouthPark on divx
Van Wilder screener

I'm not sure of exact numbers, but I have at least 25 games on my 120gb hdd and it still has about 65gb free, I will continue to fill it .

My xbox has never crashed, sneezed or hicupped since I flashed the onboard with Evo X 2.2 and added the 120gb hdd.

Its perfect.

What about putting the hdd back in your pc and defragging it with Norton for instance.

If possible, then this would speed up access times and reduce the possibilty of crashes that some people are obviously seeing.

Hey Negative-Nancy

This has been discussed b4, it has NOTHING to do with your hdd.

Try truncating the names of the directories you made, i hear jolliet works SOMTIMES... but i would really trust it, rename the files/dirs that YOU made to at least Bridged (8+3)

ie:

C:/games/Max Payne A Super Dooper Kick Ass Game/WOOOOO/...
to
C:/games/MaxPayne/

And please dont go spouting of garbage like "120gig drive R Shit" cause i know alot of people have filled em up with more then 10 games w/o any problems...

Yeh it kind of makes sense, since the games aren't gonna be stored sequentially.

When you delete a game, it isn't really deleted - but rather the pointer changes location.

So you can have a 120gb HD with only one game on it, but it will run like a full one if it was once full before, then the games deleted but the drive never defragged.

I'm still gonna buy one though.
I guess I won't be deleting anything then.

Yeah...

if you do the "cable trick" and install the HDD driver you should be able to read from the disk. And defrag could work.

Ohh.. and a disc cant crash coz you put a game into it. When discs crashes its because of mechanical problems. But most likely that the disk was bad from the start if its a new drive.

Has anyone resolved this problem?  I have a WD 120 gig 5400 rpm installed, top is off the unit.  Crashes (actually hangs) but can recover by ejecting cd tray.  Been playing with it for about 2 hours, happened 3 times.  About 80 gigs free.

I may try a new drive cable, perhaps a new drive as well..
