Flash Tsop / Modchip On

This is why I can't see a real reason to flash the onboard BIOS at all. Even people who know what they are doing get themselves into trouble with this.

It would be much more useful just to wire your Flash on the modchip side, with the added insurance having a switch between banks on a 4 or 8mbit part, so you ALWAYS have a copy of the Mod BIOS to boot with.

Just my 2 cents worth.

smile.gif so I probably won't be tearing apart my Xbox to try it out. I'm sure somebody is trying it out right now anyway.

QUOTE (Tret @ Aug 7 2002, 01:08 PM)
Now what I have is an Xbox with a few weird issues.

1. it powers on and the Hard drive makes a high pitched whistle sound

2. It powers itself on and off and on and off and on and then with no screen display begins flashing red/green

3. Hard drive will not work when put into another Xbox with a evo2.2 bios that works perfect.

Hope none of you make this stupid series of errors. If anyone has any salvage Ideas I am open for suggestions.

Tret

Send me your board I can fix it!!!

In your case, I would offer to mod a friends box with a homebrew (or any other total bios replacement chip) and fix yours beforehand - will save you having to buy another modchip.
