Enigmah-x Or Evolutionx ?

Sorry to load you guys up with so much at once.

Its a little confusing at first but stick around and these guys will teach you loads!! I was quite happy playing my few copies before I got here and now I know how to download from usenet, flash the bios and install switches, networking, backing up etc etc etc...

this is how it works..
Enigmah X is a mod chip, you have to install it in the machine with 29 easy (pah!!) points, all this does is by pass the original bios when you switch on and uses its own which lets you boot from DVD-R etc etc. Basically its another bios chip with some extra logic in it so it knows what to do. (sorry to the chip makers out there but this is supposed to be a simple explanation!)

Evolution X on the other hand is a great tool for putting on your Xbox hard drive so you can make backups and launch games from the hard drive etc.

EvolutionX cannot be used until you have a modded box!

EvolutionX can also be seen as a bios, if you follow the flashing tutorial found on this site you'll see you need to add a bit of solder to the two points on the motherboard (or put switches but thats harder if you're a beginner solderer).

If you have EvolutionX on your hard drive (you do this by booting from the EvoX disc and then connecting through ftp and changing the file the xbox boots up with to the evoX one).
Now you have evoX installed you can flash the bios, there are two ways..
first is follow the tutorial on this site
and then try it yourself
or

download or get a copy of Xflash (sometimes known as dysfunctions flasher) and you can boot up with that to flash the bios on the xbox with whatever you want..
if you choose the Evox Bios image then your xbox will load up with EvoX without your chip in it.
if you choose one of the others then it just means the xbox chip's bios will be replaced by the extender one or whatever bios you chose from Xflasher .

You dont have to flash the bios with EvoX to copy games, you only need that if you want a bigger hard drive (or just like the idea of doing it like me).
Copying games is easy once you get EvoX on your hard drive, just copy contents of drive D:\ to your pc.

wow, what a big reply.. hmmm
easiest way would be if you have problems, email me and I'll talk you through it...
