I have this weird problem after having modded hundreds of xboxes. I had a V1.0 that came in today with the problem that it didnt play games anymore after some settings had been changed by his kid. I have searched for hours but i couldnt get any game working from hdd or disc. Emulators work fine, movies play fine, everything works fine except that the games wont load. I live in the Netherlands so we dont have the parental control option in the settings menu as many topics i found today on this forum refer to. I also havent found anything looking close to it in either XBMC, Ava, Evox etc etc.

I also have changed the chip that was build in by someone else, it was an Applex Pro. I changed the chip and replaced it with a Duo X2, same problem. I replaced it with an Aladdin Advance, same problem.....trying different bios also wont work, either an X2 bios or M8....im really out of options and i have searched the whole forum all day to find the smallest clue so i can try something else to see if it fixes the problem, but with no luck, i saw many topics having the same symptoms but those were caused by parental control settings.

Sound familiar to anyone?

try a differernt HDD / dash and see,
there was something a while back about being able to enable parental control in one of the apps, but not being able to disable it

I tried both, but still the same problem. Whats the name of the application do you still remember? Or does anyone else have a link to it? Thanks in advance

I figured the whole thing out. peeps who have a NON-US Xbox do not have the parental control option in the settings menu, i was about to install an old US dash on my dutch xbox until i saw the light as i was lighting my joint  

If you cant boot or load games and everything else works fine like XBMC and emu's etc etc this is what you have to do: (mostly non-us xbox)

Install or boot avalaunch, i used the 49.0.3 and it worked just fine. Then go to Av Settings, where you will see the Parental Control option down under. It is probably set to anything except NO LIMIT, mostly its set at ALLOW EVERYONE. As you may have witnessed this wil NOT let you boot from games with a rating except Amped2 etc etc
Set it to NO LIMIT and ur problems are gone. Make sure AllowEepromWriteback is enabled in the BOOT OPTIONS otherwise you will get an error popping up saying:Can't update/write to eeprom

Problem solved.....
