X-man you fucking dolt, heed your own words and shut up as you just posted an incredible amount of facts, and yet made yourself look stupid in the process... Anyone who doesn't know that the xbox is far more powerful than ps2 (or any existing console) is a dullard..

But if you think because it's #'s are bigger that means it'll run ps2 games, you truely are a dolt. Emulation does not happen on systems of equal power, christ emulation doens't happen on a system double the power of the system it's emulating...

I will directly quote you, as you so elegantly put it.

The bottom line is, the psx2 and xbox runs off a program.  Maybe trying a little reverse engineering and add the true psx bios to the xbox.  You might have to add a chip here and there, you might not. With new advances in technology today, anything is possible.  You have to just figure it out if that is your pet peve.  SO everyone should stop knocking on each other and pull your head out of your ass and think of shit that will benefit yourself, others or just yourself.

In my opinon, the xbox is strong enough to play psx2 games thru reverse engineering.  Remember, the PSX2 and Xbox are both "Computer Runned" hardware. A PC without the keyboard and mouse.  They both uses "software" to read write info.

Remember the Dreamcast? Runs off of Windows CE 2.0.
I have created my own version of mame using their source code to benefit myself and friends.  On some of the two or more player games We are able to play against each other on the LAN or Internet.  We accomplished this because this is what WE wanted the results to be.
So people chill on the knocking and name calling because this is the year 2002 not 1959.  Technology is more advance today.  So Anything is POSSIBLE. mad.gif

I don't know if it's true or not, but I've read that the general rule for emulation is a multiple of ten...you need 10x the power to emulate an inferior system.  While the box is definitely more powerful than the ps2, I don't know if it's ten times as powerful.  Is anyone more knowledgeable on this issue? ph34r.gif

Here's a suggestion.. Let this post here, by me, be the last.. Let's just let this thread go away, anyone with a clue knows it's impossible, anybody without a clue has no valid input....

The fact that it is 5 friggin pages long gives it far too much credibility.

Xbox will never emulate ps2 !

and for someone to tell this message board that they have found an emulator for 'psx2' proves in one line of text that you are lying and have no idea what you're talkin about. Sorry.

If a dev group was so involved in the homebrew scene, they would be a veteran and well connected member of the console scene and would NEVER refer to a ps2 as a psx2 !

Is there an Xbox emulator for the Xbox?  I have some really cool Xbox games, I'd like to play... so far all I've been able to play is MAME, GBA, Atari, etc. on my Xbox... but the screenshots for these other 80 games look really AWESOME!!!

Please post a link directly to the IRC channel... oh, and I'd like the source code as well...

Oh, and a good recipe for cookies would be nice.

Oh yeah, in technical terms, the Xbox is a Bagillion Zillion Quintillion more times that the PS2.  Sorry, if that's a little too "technical".

Youngdragon-
Got nothing against you, but you got a couple things wrong about the Dreamcast.
Just because the Windows CE logo is on the front does NOT mean said operating system is 'built-in' to the DC. It mearly means it can run it. If a game/app uses WinCE Dev Kit for the DC as its development platform, they must actually put the files for WinCE on the media they write the game/app on (be it a CDROM or GDROM). That is the ONLY way the Dreamcast can use WinCE.... and it is used as effectively as an old man uses his broken legs to jog a marathon.
For two, the Bleem!Cast emulator (the name of the Bleem! port on the DC) needs to be bought in seperate discs and can run only one game per disc- the Metal Gear Solid disc can only run Metal Gear Solid, the Tekken 3 disc can only run Tekken 3, and the Gran Turismo 2 disc can only run Gran Turismo 2. Each of the discs has a seperate build of Bleem! to run each of those games effectively, and even if you could trick it into loading a different game, it wouldn't work well, if at all. And, contrary to popular belief, there is no leaked 'full' Bleem!Cast ISO that can play every PSX game on the DC.
Both questions are properly answered if you actually went to a Dreamcast emulation and/or dev site and read the newbie FAQ. Do you even own a Dreamcast? Apparently not. Again, not to diss you, but even the naive on the DC homebrew scene has the answers to those questions burned to the back of their brain (except for the hax0rs who claim to have the leaked Bleem!Cast CD and the XBox emu for the DC [Runs Halo at %50 garanteed!]).
