Crossover Failure
« on: December 28, 2004, 09:19:00 AM »

I just bought a Crossover Cable so I don't need to use my router all the time.
But the thing is, I have no contact between the xbox and the computer.
It works fine with the router, but when I plug in the crossover cable the light wont even flicker at the xbox port.

What could be wrong? My computer states that there's no cable connected, but there is!

your pc and xbox are probably set to get an ip from your router.
the simplest method would be to just keep your router and buy a longer cable.

I see, but is there anyway to manually set the IP between xbox and pc, so I still can use the crossover cable?
The router is in a very bad location and it would be a pain i the ass to install a cable that long.
