Original Hd Question
« on: July 26, 2002, 02:37:00 PM »

Before I take any chances, does anybody know if it is safe to put games onto any of the other partitions (other than E:) on the original hard drive?

Thanks!

x,y,z are all cache drives, for temp storage.. I wouldn't put anything there, as there's a good chance the xbox will wipe that space whenever it needs it.

- the F partition would only be for a larger drive , you cannot store anything there with an original Xbox hard drive .
- Warning !!! Do Not Store Too Much Data on the E partition [ don't fill it up ] or you will have a very sick Xbox in no time !

Heh, i also had problems with the hd when it got too full, so keep it in mind if/when your games start to act up..

With the price of hd's today, it really is worth the upgrade..

I've speculated that the TDATA dir is temporary data.  DOA3 takes like 4 gigs, so that would be an obvious data whore.  It's like filling up your PC's HD.  It goes really, really slow.  The thing here is, games aren't programmed to use just memory.  It's either one way or another.  I know this from all that experience in basic.  laugh.gif
