Where can I get a copy of the menu maker?  I can not find it for download on the main site?

I've tried a number of things while trying to start the menu from my f: drive.

No problem adding about 80 entries to the menu, the redir.xbe is called as well when selecting an entry (removing the redir.xbe show different behaviour) but it seems there's an absolute path in redir.xbe which prohibits running the actual xbe.

Tried hex-editing the file but this did not help.

I didn't know that you could install it on the Xbox hard disk. I've burnt it onto DVDR and it works great. Just follow the info that comes with the zip/rar and it works great. So far I have one dvdr that has Nba live, Tony hawk rip, Mx2002, Dave Mirra and Wreckless. Now I'm doing more DVDr with more games on it. It's a great tool.

I found it on a file sharing host, like MIRC. I think it can only be found on this type of sites due to the illegal content of the program.

I tried everything under the sun, including speaking to numerous people on irc.. It is the general concensus that cpx's menu will not currently work from the hard drive... (shame too, it's so damned purdy!)

As was mentioned earlier in the post, even if you do get it to the HD, it will only run from the dvd drive.

I opened my menu.xdi and all the names are in the right place with no spaces.

I didnt burn to DVD tho, I just uploaded it to my HDD, and every time i select a game, it sends me back to the EvoX Dashboard.

Any help?

here is my menu.xdi:

howeg, you cannot use this program to launch games from the hard disk.  only works on discs.

that aside, i've had some trouble with menux on DVD-RW (princo) also.  i made a disc with 1) blood wake, and 2) jet set radio future.  i followed the directions perfectly, and the menu shows up fine.  bloodwake boots and plays properly, but JSRF boots then will not load the first level.

i get some error that says "dirty disc".  i've tried reburning using DVD-R, so i don't think it's the physical media.  i've tried creating an iso file using xIso - when i do so, you cannot see the files anymore.  still the same problem.

i've come to the conclusion that these menu programs just don't work 100%.  it's probably better to just burn a separate disc for each game.  unless someone can tell me what i'm doing wrong?

I had menuX working perfectly off my HD to launch my games. I had exoX 1.8.458 on evoX bios 2.2. I just copied the default.xbe to my e:\games folder. Then I copied the menuX folder to e:\games. Rebooted to evoX, menuX showed up in my games menu, started it and was able start all my games!! I had no idea it wasn't supposed to work. I even copied their backdir.xbe into my halo/xdemos and was able to leave halo by calling the demos, no reboot! I proceeded to change the skin and background music and also installed evoX 1.8.259. Somewhere along the way, menuX stopped working. The menu still, but when launching games, some hang and some go back to evoX. I've tried setting everything back the way I had it before with no luck. While looking over the readme again, I noticed I had never copied redir.xbe along with default.xbe. But that doesn't help either. Tried putting full paths to my games in the config, no luck.  So I came to the forum looking for help and I see that nobody ever got it to work on the HD in the first place??

The only thing I do know at this point is that I had it working absolutely had it working from my HD for a while, I have witnesses, so it must be possible!

THANX for the post dude... but it still doesnt work for me.
I tried to edit the default.xbe with hex workshop, there were some references to the "d:" and "device0". I tried changing some of them but i'm far from a coder. couldn't really make heads or tails of it, but i know with a simple edit it should be a cinch.

Has anyone replaced the xboxdash.xbe with the cpxmenu one? It might work, but in order to use evolution x again , you need to boot from the cdrw.
