Flashing The Xbox’s TSOP by SniperKilla
« on: July 10, 2002, 05:10:00 AM »

Hi,

I've read SniperKilla's tutorial about flashing the xbox bios to evo2.2 but he mentions that you would need switches....as I don't know where to get these here in my location is it possible just to cut the 2 wires of the xtender chip when you normally would put the switches open according to SniperKilla?
If the flash is succesfull you wouldn't need the xtender chip anymore, right?

-->
If your chip was a ST chip, make a c:\roms on your xbox and put the evo2.2 bios in it found on the evolution x release.

Then load up the evolution x dashboard, go to system utilities, then flash bios.

Open both switches “off position” *** or cut the wires???***

Then open your ftp program, browse to c:\roms, then execute :
flashbios name.bin
Replacing name with whatever your bin name is.
There should now be a bar on your tv showing the progress of flashing.

It will tell you its rebooting, leave the mod switches open, if the evolution x dashboard loads, it was successful, try booting a backup.

You can then remove the mod or leave the switches open.

But is necessary to cut all the wires of the mod chip or just someone (for example VCC line etc..)?
Thanks

You only need to cut 2 two wires or build switches between them.
See the tutorial:

biggrin.gif)

this switch installation thing sounds safer than cutting wires while the xbox is on -- but, heck, i don't even know what a switch looks like never mind how to install one... (is it terribly difficult?)
