did u try making a link to the default bios on your evolution x screen? then putting the disc in. or simply put the dvd in, turn off your console and turn it back on with the disc inside. or is that not how the playback kit works? lol ive never used it...

already tried all those things, nothing worked, it has something to do with the original menu.ini, unfortunately, I deleted mine by accident, so i'm stuck with the evolution x menu.ini

Ok... I just checked it out. If you link to the original MS Xbox dashboard in the menu.ini, just turn on the Xbox, insert the DVD and close the drive. When the EvoX dashboard comes up, choose the MS dashboard and the DVD will load. If you screwed up and deleted the original xboxdash.xbe, you're f'ed until someone figures out how to add DVD playback to the EvoX dashboard.

I got it, its working now, did what you said but just backwards, restored orginal dash and just load evo dash when needed, dvd playback is fine now
