Evolution X PROBLEMS
« on: July 09, 2002, 05:47:00 PM »

I had the same problem happen to me. I had the evolution working fine for 2 days and then it started doing the same thing as you.  I figured out what the problem, I had the xbox unplugged for a little while and it erased the date and time. when i put the regular xboxdash.xbe back and started the xbox it prompted me of the date and time. I entered it and put evolution back on and now it is working again

Put the original disc in the drive, then go to the reboot option.  Should work fine...

phew, i just had the same problem and almost crapped myself because in the process of returning the xboxdash to its original state, flashfxp froze on me and made my heart jump. i have had the best luck uploading with cute ftp and downloading with flashfxp.  hopefully i wont unplug the box again.

Couldnt you just go to the xbox dash from the evoX dash and set the time there?

well if you read the first post you would see that it wouldnt go to the original xboxdash it would just show the logo and go back to evolution x.  So the time couldnt be set

Thanks everyone for all the replys.  I initially solved the problem by adding a link to d:/default.xbe in the menu.ini but I think I'm about to  try resetting the date/time and seeing what happens. Sure wish someone would figure out how to stop the bastard from losing its memory every time its unplugged ( maybe some type of internal battery could be added? ) any ideas?

That is because he had a game in there.  With no game in the drive it should go to the dash just fine.  At least mine does, but if a game is in there and you go to the dash the evox dash pops back up.

You must not understand english very well or you didnt read it.  He said the same thing happens with no disk in the drive.  I know you think you are really smart and thought of this incredible way to fix the problem but you cannot go back to the microsft dashboard if the date and time have reset.
