250gb Hd F Drive Odd
« on: December 07, 2004, 10:45:00 PM »

F drive only reports approximately 220gb total, but free space is only ~120gb. As I continue to fill the drive, the correct amount of space being used is reported as used.

Xbox has the M8+ bios set to partition 6 takes rest of drive and LBA48. Xenium ICE mod chip with 2.0.1 OS. 1.6 version xbox.

So am I missing soemthing here? Could the drive be corrupted?

Thanks for any points in the wight direction,
JB

I didn't think the partitions could be larger than 120GB anyway. I have a 250 in mine, and I have a 120GB F and a 120GB G. But mine correctly reports both size and free space.

I'm having the same problem. I posted a few minutes ago but haven't heard anything. config magic also won't read the xbox version so I can't lock the drive.

the f drive must be formatted properly (IE while using lba48 bios.. double check the bios too)... use slayers and format the f drive, but i'd recommend the whole thing just for posterity

I'll give that a try and get back - as soon as I can backup what's on F!

That worked... I just reinstalled the whole box.

Here's where I think the problems started - I used the Xenium ICE OS to prepare the drive. The OS must not support LBA48, so you need to use Slayer's with the M8+ and LBA48 hack (on a 1.6.)
