Large Hdd Swap From Dead Xbox To New Modded One?
« on: December 07, 2004, 09:58:00 PM »

I have a v1.0 xbox that my buddy killed during an attempted X3 install.  I had a 120 GB HD in that xbox full of games and stuff.  Is there a way to remove that drive and install it in a newly modded xbox w/o losing the info on the HD?

1. Unlock your HDD, if it isn't already unlocked.
(You need the HDD key to unlock it.)
(If your previous xbox is screwed, you can use the PC to unlock the HDD: http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/pc-hdd.php)

2. Put it in your working xbox, and if you wish to, lock it again. Remember to keep a copy of the key handy.
(ConfigMagic is handy for locking/unlocking a HDD)

3. If you have lost your key, don't wory, it may be recoverable depending on which program you used to lock your HDD, and whether you made a backup of your xbox settings.

OK, I Have my HD key, tried that tutorial, the HDUNLOCK worked, but I couldn't get HDDISABL to work.  New X-box has X3 installed on it.  When I boot it I get a error 6.  I have given up on saving the data on this HD and now I just want to use Slayer 2.6 final on it and start over.  I am currently trying different DVD R media for the Thomsan DVD drive.  Any ideas?
