Hey Jusplayn,

You really should not post your IP address on the forums like that.... That is a really easy way to be hacked.......

Go to Network on your box ,make all zeros press Select two times then reboot your Xbox.Go to network again and you'll see your IP there.

Dont worry bout the static IP,just enter the IP you get in the FTP program you re using. And becarefull what you do once you get to the Xbox HD....dont delete or rename files if you dont know what youre doing.

QUOTE (Jusplayn @ Jul 8 2002, 06:25 PM)
Hey xboxer.  It already has all zero's.  When i connect to the network,  It finds a IP on the Auto.  But the static is all zeros.  I reboot and it just gets another IP and the static is still all zeros. Do you understand this?
Thanks Keith unsure.gif

If you're getting new IPs every time, it's being assigned from somewhere else.  If the computer can see the xbox, even with each new IP, check the network settings with "winipcfg" (goto run) and lookup the subnet and IP address.  Then you can stick those into the areas you're talking about.  That should get rid of constant changing of IP.  Then you won't have to go searching for the IP every time =).

Hey tagnetti.  I tried typing ipconfig on my computer (Winxp) but it just flashed the dos.  Couldnt read anything.  My xbox still keeps changing IP's.
I dont use a static cause the ip keeps changing.  So what other way to find my computers IP and Gateway?  thanks Keith

go to start/run  then type in cmd

when the dos box comes up type in ipconfig/all

that will give you the ip address and all other network info all you need is the ip and gateway.

That should work fine
