I have some questions about installing a new hd

1. Yes... had some problems formatting the new drive, but I managed to clone my original and then reformat partition 6 for a nice 72gig for my stuffs.

2. I'm running an 80gig.  I read of someone with a 160gig (but they only had ~120gig showing as useable).  There may be a limit.

3. Just a regular 3.5" HD... I'd stay away from IBM's though.  I personally always use Maxtors.

Check out this thread... plus my addendum about 4 posts down.

Oh, and I didn't mod the mobo bios, I just reflashed my external homebrew.
