Can you explain how you connected to XBOX? I looked at FAQS, but no info is given about connecting to computer! Do you just connect ethernet cable to both and then the FTP program can read the IP of the XBOX? Please let me know! Thanks!

I've created a small tutorial on how to connect the Xbox to your PC and how to replace the MS dashboard with the EvolutionX one. I am planning to create more tutorials such as how to put games on the hard drive but those will have to wait for later because I am now busy playing DVD games that I wasn't able to play earlier because of a lack of DVD-RW. You can read the tutorial here.

ok I had a feeling this would happen..... not all the backups you make to your pc will burn to dvd and work right away.... but this is my theory...

do u remember that little program that was leaked a lil while ago called the xboxcracker or something like that..... I think some games need to be patched or should I say cracked b4 burned back to disc to work correctly...

some one give it a shot... that little proggie was thought to be useless b4, try it now...

Has anyone tried just burning it out in UDF format and not ISO?

Oh, i also tried UDF, and created an ISO.   both have the exact same effect, so it's something the game is not seeing, i'm wondering if it's a multi session thing like the dc's were.    maybe there are two sessions...  guessing at this point..

I'm even amazed this program is out.  When the Dreamcast scene started, they didnt release anything until the DC was dead, then it came out.  I dont understand why groups do this.   Now someone will probably say "because n00bs will spam boards everywhere" ... my answer to that is that everyone is a "n00b" at one point, and to spread knowledge is not a bad thing so lighten up.

I do all  my burns  in  UDF (no  ISO's).   They all  work great.  The only thing that  wont work is if  burning  to cdr,  then you have  to use  ISO's.   What game are you  having trouble backing up?

Hunter the Reckoning.  Does not work, i've tried 2 different ways, ISO and UDF.

I successfully ripped Hunter.

FTP the files down.

Hex edit default.xbe

Find offset 0X00000214

Change 0020 0000 to FFFF FF00

Save, burn as UDF in Primo, and Play!

This worked great with my Enigmah BETA.

OK. What exactly is that key and how do you know that's what you have to edit?

I don't see how this makes sense. I ripped 5 games and all have the 0020 0000 in the offset and they all boot fine. A little insight on this would be cool.

I did that because that it the same thing that all of the "BETA patches" are doing. I compared patched and non-patched xbe's for 4 releases, that needed patches. After the patch they all had the same key changed.

I don't have a clue what the key is, but Hunter works now.

So, if a game doesn't boot on your first attempt, what I did might be a thing to try.

That is just incredibly odd. Seeing that games that don't have that changed work just fine.....

I wonder if a game that is working will still work after changing that....

Anyone have any insight on this patch??

I sucessfully did a rip of Bruce Lee last night using Evo-X. Took 2 burn attempts but I got it working. First try booted but ingame text was scrambled.  Used Xiso first time. Second time I just used the Joliet with UDF in PrimoDVD like someone posted before and it worked great. Played through a couple of levels. About to try HALO and Hunter to see how it goes. I use Princo DVD-RWs and have Enigmah Final installed. Some tips I learned. You must have the Evo-X dash installed as it allows the no-reset disk insert. Second, I had to send a RAW LIST command through the FlashFXP to get a real readout of the D drive. Once I got the real directory listing i ftp'd everything on the cd to a directory on my pc. So far it has worked, but it took alot of persistence to get it going. Let me know how you work out with your attempts. I'll let you guys know about Hunter and Halo.

Not all games are patched the same way.  007 has a bunch more bytes changed than the others.. and morrowind only has a single byte difference I believe.

Anyone know what the patch actually does?

I am considering doing this as well, by just using the crossover method.
I never used evoX yet or anything but have been reading what others have said and am highly considering it.. but dont games only need patched if you have a beta chip? Thats just what I thought, im probably wrong.
Now, as for copying the games to your Pc Hdd, then burning them to dvdr/w, Wouldnt doing that , like drelkor did, mess up the original file structure? Hence causing games to load slower? Im very curious about that, but once again i havent used this yet so i dont know, i mean, its not technically a 1:1 copy, like on the comp where u put the cd in and Iso it, keeps the structure, this puts it on the hard drive, can anyone confirm this?
Do the games work just fine with no longer load times? Kinda like using game selector where some games would take longer to load cuz it would go through and have to try to find all the files, anyway, if anyone can answer this stuff, that would be alot of help in my decision, thanks!, good luck to the rest of ya!

Just so you know I just ripped Hunter and put it on a RW with no patching and it worked fine.
