Rs232 Serial & Probe Liteon
« on: January 05, 2009, 09:10:00 PM »

I will be making up RS232 Serial adapters and probes.  They will look very similar to the one below and have a red power led.  The unit is clean, no exposed wires, connections and components.  Very easy to use and connect to your PC.  I can include an Alligator ground clip.

Units are $10 shipped.

Is that all you would need to extract the key from a Liteon?

As far as I know, you still need either a connectivity kit or the 360 for power.  I added the pass through 4 pin Molex so you could connect this, then connect a connectivity kit.  I also just ordered alligator clips to add for the use of a ground if using the 360 for power.  I will be making a similar version with only a single molex plug and the ground clip.

Connectivity kits can be bought in all shaped and sizes.  I use a basic one that is good alone for Sammys, Bennys, and early Hilgys.  I have 2 of these that come with a Hard drive connector as well for $20

I take paypal, and you can just shoot me an email at [email protected]

Just to be clear to some people, What I have is 2 of these devices made up, and plenty of parts from all my other projects to make more.  The 2 that I have made are for sale, as I can just make myself another one.  I also will sell parts, or if someone is interested, put the parts together for you, like I have already done in the ones that are for sale.  I also have one alligator clip so far that can be added to a new build, that also connects to the 5 pin as a ground for the PC.

How do you get the Lite on tray half open using the xbox to power the drive?

Please, this is the BST forum.  If you do not know how to use one of these probes, or have not familiarized yourself with the tutorial on using them, then please, do so or refrain form purchasing.

I have taken all the custom orders I am going to take.  If you want to build your own I can sell you all the parts you need for a basic one, but I am not doing all the fancy custom requests for $10.  I  am sorry but I feel the price is fair, and I am not forcing anyone to buy one.

I will sell kits with the follwing if you would like to build your own:

1x Female DB9.RS232 to RJ45 Adapter (or male with female gender changer)
2x 1K Ohm resistor
2x 10K Ohm resistor
1x NPN 547 Transistor
1x 4 Pin molex male plug with 4 solder/crimp pins
1x 4' cat5 cable with 1 RJ45 jack
1x Safety Pin
1x Alligator clip
1x momentary (NO) pushbutton
basic diagram of how I do it.

You will need:
a pen or something to hold the pin as a probe
solder and soldering gun
heatshrink, electrical tape, hot glue or whatever you want to use for insulation
wire cutting, stripping, crimping, and other hand tools

I am sorry, this looked like something I could whip a few up out of spare parts that I have, but most of you want different things, and unless you are willing to pay alittle more for a more than what is pictured in the thread starting post, all I can offer is a kit.

Please continue to send orders to [email protected]

I will not be checking this thread anymore, only my email.  I will post one last time when all the parts are gone.
