How To Format A Xbox Harddisk For Use In Pc

my xbox is broken and i want to use the xbox harddisk in the pc. But i have tried fdisk and partion magic to make the harddisk compatible for pc, but it didn't work.
wich tool should i use instead ????

hard drive is locked to the xbox, must be unlocked before it can be used in a pc.

 and how do i unlock that hard drive ??? because my xbox doesnt start anymore

If you have a backup of the eprom file on your pc, you can use hd unlock.

If not, you can physicaly remove the eprom from the dead motherboard and put it on a good one, then unlock the drive...

Most likly though, you have a paperweight...  :(

 But i don't know anybody else who wonts to solder in there xbox. Is there no other solution that i can ???

Maybe if ur lucky u can send it away 2 som1 2 do the Job for ya, since u don't know any1 else with an xbox willing 2 do it

Is the drive just the stock 8 or 10 gig drive?

Or was this a big drive that was put into it?

If it was an upgrade drive, it might have been locked with configmagic in wich case you can follow one of the tutorials for unlocking it!

If it was just an 8 or 10 gig drive, then it is hardly worth the effort since you can get them for about $10 on ebay....

it's a stock harddisk  10 gig seagate.
