I'd tried everything to get this baby to boot into evox. EVERYTHING. Could I do it? no.
The chip was installed proper like, the bios shows up, and then... it kicked into the MS dash. Even after slayers disk has done its thing.
(btw, I installed slayers on the original HD (I did make a backup before-hand) and that manages to boot in ok. I just kept asking myself what exactly was I doing wrong?)
SO: I went back and made a copy of the old HD (as has apparently been mentioned a couple of times in this thread) using:
http://www.xbox-scen...dd-install2.phpStill nothing. Infact, all I got was error 13 on the new drive. :| Even after using slayer's disk again.
I told my mate his xbox would be up and running last night, and now I've (still) got a stinking headache and my l33tness is looking thinner than ever before. Still better late than never

Anyhow, cut a long story short, I used the bootable CD I'd made using the tutorial, and with a bit of fore-though on my part, had already set a fixed IP - which allowed me to ftp in via my computer and manually move the contents of the (backed up) C drive.
Ta daa.... one working modded crystal xbox. Now to upload 46 gigs worth of games.. heh...
Bastard thing
