Heh Thomson DVD rom that read CDr's that is great, well i dont know is it right or bad stuff, but i order one xbox from WolfSoft
and hope i will get soon as posible, normal edition without modship, as i only wonna be able to instal Xbox Media Player, and mybe posibility to play backuped games ( :) ), i wil, not need live, only mybe setup network for streaming video,audio :)

as before, eny info here will be accepted :)))

Might be worth upgrading your dash to Live 2.0 and trying again.  I assume Live 2.0 is available from #xbins? Failing that, do any of the new games like Rainbow Six 3 have a newer dashupdate.xbe that would do it?

Anyway, methinks a hacked BIOS will have this little wrinkle ironed out!  wink.gif

just use the resize button in xbtool, dont try to open the bios, you you cna use a hex editor, just copy the last 262144 bytes and paste as a new .bin

xbins doesnt host any MS dashboards, dont know about rainbow 6, but im 99.99% sure ninja gaiden contains Live 2.0 (my friend got updated and now gets error 21 from his color-modded xboxdash.xbe, so im guessing he got upgraded to 2.0)

 Well that points to the obvious they removed connexant encoder code.

In fact it probably will frag anything but a 1.6

It might be time for different bios's for different xbox's again.

Hmmm... that'll keep us TSOP-flashers on our toes, no more running on autopilot when modding a box!

Unless, of course, there's something else it's grumbling about, such as extra data in the EEPROM ( sad.gif ), a completely rearranged EEPROM ( mad.gif ) or a bigger EEPROM ( grr.gif ).

It'd be worth trying the new BIOS on 1.2/1.3 (Conexant) and 1.4/1.5 (Focus) machines, as these ought to be more closely related to the 1.6 machine.  Unfortunately mine's a 1.1, so I can't help (and I've just dropped a Xenium in it too - bugger!)

Bourke, any chance of you passing an EEPROM dump onto the appropriate crew?  007savewithevox should let you do it (just make sure there's a "backup" command in your evox.ini).  Perhaps they'll spot something odd in there.

How the last two posters were able to miss my post where I wrote that the 5713 bios booted nicely in a v1.4 (Focus, that is) I can't understand :) Yes, they might've removed Connexant support - but 5713 works in at least 1.4 and 1.6 ...

I have no v1.1 or v1.0 to test on here right now, and I won't have a v1.6 for yet another few days. Those who have are welcome to try out the LPC-boot thingie (see earlier).

also, to anyone that plays around with it on older xbox's, just remember that it wont boot on a 1.0 w/o repacking it.

Have anyone Crystal xbox (limited edition)? I will buy one, but i don't know, if that xbox is the same with other xboxes (motherboard). Will work with Aladdin modchip?
