I think its a good idea.. more and more games have long file names that arnt fatx compatable (etm for example) backing up these games to the hdd without patching them wont be a problem once fatx3 is implemented in avalaunch.

it would still both play and show up - even if xbmp didn't have fatx3, it will get the "legal" version of the long name. That is renaming the illegal chars to legal ones - and so on.

I seriously never thought people would be against this idea - especially after I've proven it both worked and worked nicely. I repeat myself when I say that copying games will never be a priority for us, we dont care that it doesn't make enter the matrix work with odd filenames.  however - it DOES allow you to copy it in, and out again without any loss in  the filename.  Useful to move information from place #1 to place #2.
