« Reply #30 on: January 04, 2005, 05:44:00 AM »

hey guys ive been using dash2gam for a few days now and am really happy with it except for one thing:

i recently install the ftp update/fix which got rid of the numbers before the folder names and allowed me to access my files but,

I still cannot access the dvd drive!

is there a way to do this?

Ill give you as much info as i can just incase

i am using a v1.1 xbox with homebrew modchip
X2 4983 bios
dash2gam 2.3 with 0.01 patch and ftp fix
using flashFXP to connect

any help would be much appreciated

cheers

I would like to try putting my own meshes inside the main menu orb, but I don't really know how to change the code to do so. Can someone help me out, or at least point me to a topic that covers this? Thanks.

I have already made the meshes and converted them to xm format. I just need to know what xip to insert them in, and the coding that I need to change in the default.xap to make the mesh show up on my menu.

sorry for our silence but we are not a lot ppl on that dash... and it still be a home project  beerchug.gif
i need a bit more time to create an install/config tut first, and another one for skinning next... Please be patient

@gadget: sorry for your questions wink.gif but your second one is not possible i think the best is to have a multigame menu on your dvd :|

& thanx you ALL for your great support

sweet.  i haven't applied the patch to it so i believe that it is still 2.3.  i was a bit concerned about the light color because i am used to it meaning trouble, i didn't realize that it was a feature.  cool beans.

thanks for the info!

QUOTE(rmenhal @ Dec 29 2004, 05:09 PM)
Dash2Gam v2.3 doesn't work with Evox bioses or other patched retail bioses (nkpatcher), because Dash2Gam.xbe contains some debug kernel specific stuff. Seems to work if you hexedit the two debug function ordinals out:

lo wink.gif

@gadget: i think "the better/improved dvd scanning support" is in the .xbe and sould b difficult to have, but i'll talk to Yoshihiro wink.gif

for your apps pb, in config_pro.ini

to have it on the root menu, you could try that (if c: is your drive) :
CODE
[ConfigMenusMainMenu]
1=Evolutionx Dash
2=C:\\evodash.xbe

or you can define your evox under this section :
CODE
[Applications]
1=Evox
2=C:
3=root
4=evodash.xbe

to call it from everywhere e.g. as quicklaunch :
CODE
[ConfigBoutonsMainMenu]
29=Evox

or from the apps menu :
CODE
[MenuLancementDD_5_2GAM]
6=Evolutionx Dash
7=Evox

@Dark_Light: what is exactly your boot pb ? i'm workin on an install tut...

I aint got  a boot problem... i just wanted to make k dash boot with my moodchip... like evox does...

i've been in the forum of the dash and I've seen ppl that hexedited the .xbe and made it bootable, but then they were having problems with the memory and others I dont remember (from the french i understood)...

so I was just asking if someone is working on that, or, if not, i can do that, all I  need to know is whose files to hexedit, besides the .xbe and permission from the 2Gam boys...

As far as I know, unless your xbox is a version 1.6 and you are using the M8 bios, you don't need to hexedit anything to have the Xbox boot with Dash2GAM.  All I did was rename the xbe file to avalaunch.xbe which is first in my bios boot order.
