If you download Dash2GAM version 2.3, and actually look at the files, you will discover that there is a directory called A Lire, which contains all the english documentation as well as french.  I have installed and configured this dashboard without ever using Google translation.

That's good news about a new version soon, thanks for the info, mintoman.

Crt is Display Blurry When Using Dash2Gam - Why?

The settings for video are yes for 480 -  720 and 1080 won't let me say yes - no idea why (tried normal, letterbox, and widescreen, too) and I'm using X2VGA+. I applied the Dah2Gam Patch v0.01 v2.3 patch to the v2.3 dash.  What do I need to do in order to get Dash2Gam to a accept higher definition when using a CRT monitor amd make the video settings work?

BTW - Unleash, Evox, XBMC, Nexgen, Ava all are fine, but Dash2Gam has this video display issue.

QUOTE(marrim @ Jan 11 2005, 03:53 AM)
I have had Dash2Gam 2.2 running for a couple of months.  Works great but, there some thing that dont work completely.   So,  time to upgrade to 2.3.  One problem.  When I upgrade to 2.3 the system boots to bios but then goes to a blank black screen.  I know this problem reside if you run a Evox bios.  If my problem was that easy that would be great.  I have tried 3 different excuter 2 bios's.  4983, 4981, and 4979 repack.  All with the same problem.  Anyone else have this issue or any suggestions.  As said before Dash2Gam 2.2 works but 2.3 doesn't.

Obviously the problem that Marrim has is not related to the Evox bios issue though, because he has tried to boot Dash2GAM with Xecuter bios with the same results.  Even if the hexedit fix worked for the Evox bios, it does not explain why he would not be able to boot with the Xecuter bios files.

When you upgraded to 2.3, did you also edit the 2.3 config file to match your settings?  The config would have been reset to default if you put on the new config files.  I am just thinking maybe the executable location settings may be wrong right now, and that might cause the problem.

I am just trying to narrow down what the problem might be.  Double check your config and then if it still doesn't work we can see what else might be causing this.

anyone notice an extreme frame rate slow down on all versions of this dash when you have many games?  Is it because of all the features...   i hope a newer uix wont do this with their implementations being added.      both are great works!

can u use the xbe of UIX and the code from dash2gam ??

I seriously doubt it since they would have different coding, but you can always try it, just make sure you can still access your Xbox to replace the Dash2GAM xbe once it doesn't boot.

If you download version 2.3 it has a directoy called A Lire which contains english documentation.

The ini files should stay in the same place that they are when you unpack the Dash2GAM archive.  The only thing that moves is the xbe, if you want to move it.

Sorry Marrim, i haven't read your post right, yet i still dont have a solution for your problem and since i dont use executer it will be hard for me to find one out....

Now, to all evolutionX users that wana make this dash, Dash2Gam, the booting dash all u need to do is:

1st: install the dash on partition E: normaly...

2nd: hexedit the following in the dash2Gam.xbe

QUOTE
Replace the "x" with the number 1 (i cant remember whats the number that comes normaly)
\Device\Harddisk0\partitionx\Dash2Gam
\Device\Harddisk0\Partitionx\Dash2Gam\dongle\dvd.dll
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
partition1 =C
partition2 =E
partition6 =F

**information submited by "sintaxx_error"  in the original dash2Gam forum

3rd: go to C: and change the name off the evoxdash to evoxdash_bak or something else (just dont del it, it might be usefull in case of any problem....)

       dont forget also to change the "config.ini" and make it look like this:

CODE

[default]
Configue=pro
Nom de l'Application=Dash2Gam (dont change this to "evoxdash.xbe")
Disque de l'Application=C:
Chemin de l'Application=root

4th: rename the hexedited "dash2Gam.xbe" to "evoxdash.xbe" and transfer it to C:

5th: restart your xbox et voilá!!!

NOTE: the Dash2Gam folder should be in the E: drive and the renamed "dash2gam.xbe" in the C: drive; and also a disadvantage of this is that u lose IGR, but the dash never had it anyway (i think...)

i've done it this way and i didn't have any problem so far, even those reported in the  original dash2Gam forum (saves problem/menuskin/sounds) ....but any problem with this configuration just post

@ kanaberra as u are one of the three guys working on the dash I hope u dont get offended with this post, but if u do let me know and i'll edit it......

Great dash ppl beerchug.gif .... if i only knew a bit more of programation I would work on it with the 3 magnifics tongue.gif

Has anyone else noticed that the dash doesn't respond immediately to input on the popup Launch windows and the popup Change Skin confirmation window?  Sometimes I have to push the button a few times to get it to register.  I wanted to see if it was just me or if it is something that everyone is experiencing.
