hi, im a complete noob when it comes to dashes (specially msdash ones).

i need help with gtxdash (from gametronix in australia) could some one who uses it tell me how to set it up and where it goes.

haha what i dont get is they have a revamped version of dvd2xbox & if i rember that is opensource so shouldnot they have 2 release the source public instead of making us email em for the source?

I do not see this 'revamped dvd2xbox' on the site.

Then again, I dont see this 'dash', which is just an ms dash mod of course, for download, or for sale. (xboxhackern00b)

@ cool_guy - trust me (even tho you have no good reason to trust me  ) they want you to pay 50 dollars australian for the dash that jbOne and co. made

ok finally managed to get it 'installed' and, strangley, when you take a screenshot it dumps it in the root of Edrive named 'tHc_snapshot00000001' - i thought only tHc did that?

Considering this dash is only using everyone elses work it should be free to distribute the dash unconfigured, I can see them charging a nominal fee to mod and install all of the software and configure it but to retail the dash itself is just brutal, I'd like to take a look at the code and find out just how much of thc is in that dash.

its all tHc code with jbones comments removed like this "/**/" and vars renamed to like 'varshindog' or sumtin - sure they added there own stuff but its all thc code.  

also i sent them a bogus email saying my copy was ruined and they replied "dash repair is 50 dollars"

ok,

gtx needs all its apps (and other) directories to boot.  including 2 copies of pxhddloader renamed to 'PROMODS01 pic hacked out.xbe' one on c and one on e

apparently it also needs an empy dir. a dir with a blank nfo. and a directory with wixip in it ??!! as well as various (dated) apps the majority have been hacked to remove their identity, see above.

all in all apparently everyone else has it wrong and you actually need 35 - count em 35 - xbe's for your dash. as well it needs xboxdashdata.10027100 and associates, fonts on root of c. and the bios boot path is E\sys\GAME BACKUP\xroad.xbe

if you remove any of the files even the blank nfo that resides in a folder of its own, or even wixip (a pc only app) it will not boot.

also if u remove the xdk pyramid demo named GAMETRONIX.xbe on root of E it will not boot.

that isn't true at all, bsx did that too, i know cause i hex fixed it for them

good times with people that take one dash and try and change it and pass it off as their own without even fully covering the fact that it is someone else's work first
