Xbox Dash Selector Project

ok i am running evolutionx and avalaunch
i have xselect0.6 as my boot selector but it isnt really visual enough for me
what i would like is a background picture and icons to select the dash ( a bit like windows logon screen)

im sure this would be pretty easy to do for a half decent programmer
if anyone knows of a program like this or is either in process of or thinking of making something like this please let me know either here or at

You COULD quite easily do this with most current dashboards by designing your own skin, however you would have to wait for it to finish loading before you can select your dashboard!

yeah i thought of doing a basic avalaunch 1 but then why bother having evox at all

i just want a fast loading visual selector

looks like i will have to start programming myself :(

does this make sense to anyone?  if so, please explain it to me.  he's only using 2 dashboards and he wants another dashboard to choose which dashboard to use???? wtf???

evox has it's uses, but why are you using evox right now?

The idea behind X-Select was to have a no-resource dashboard selector with password protection and also be pretty much "unsinkable"


Adding pretty pictures defeats the "unsinkable" part, since a corrupt image can hose the app. An app like that should be very recoverable.... that's the intention of X-Select - to be as unobtrusive and quick as possible to get the job done.

yea i agree with the last two posts here... are you thinking about this clearly?  You want a visual for a boot selector you would theoretically be in for a second before you load a dash and then have all the visuals that dash has to offer (preview vids, game icons, whatever).  Its not making much sense to me, but to each his own.
