My TV is JVC 29" with 520p. I use xbox hidef kit.
Trouble is unleashX cannot draw the display

. It's garbled with horizontal moving colorful lines.
It works fine with evox, but I really really want to use unleashX.
Unleash working fine if I use standard AV cable (and plug it to the av conn, of course), unfortunately the screen display in a very different quality.
Any one can help? :huh: any tips? workaround?

FYI I have the same problem with xbmc, but solved it by first connect the xbox to standard av cable, get into the screen calibration, then just exit (I didn't even have to change a thing). after that I connect the hdtv kit and voila.. xbmc working fine.

Ive never heard of 520p is that new? OR is that a European thing.
If it is 520p Unleash doesnt support it. Unleash only supports 480p 720p and 1080i.

It's japanese model actually... not really an hdtv, but a 100hz digital tv capable of receiving component input.

xbmc also not support 520p I guess. but somehow I manage to use it (pls see my previous post). is there anyway I can do to make unleashx (or maybe even another dash/xbox homebrew) works on 520p? anything in the config or in the source?

If you can't see anything, press the "Back" button while booting UnleashX. Once booted, disable 480p, 720p and 1080i.

Here's what I assume is happening.

Your TV can accept a 480p signal right?

In your MS dashboard, I think you have turned on 480p support, but when unleashx loads, it isnt set to do it yet, so it loads up a 480i signal, the tv is expecting 480p, so it looks all garbled (like a 480i signal on a vga adapter does). Go in to Settings, Video in unleashx and enable 480p support, then reboot.... theoretically it will allow unleashx to boot into 480p like your TV is expecting it to be.

...this might solve your problem, but its just a theory.

Solved my problem! :lol:

What I did:
"back" when open uX -> go to setting -> clear everything (480p & co.) -> reboot -> working!!.... then....
open uX -> go to setting -> enable 480p -> reboot -> working too!!

Still have some problem though, cannot run my harddisk installed game (hanging at loading screen). but perhaps because I still run it this way: evox -> boxplorer -> unleashx -> the game.

I'll try again after make unleashx my new default dash..

Just want to give back something to the community.....

At last I know how to solve screen garbled problem in 520p TV:

1. Go to default MS XBOX dashboard
2. Setting at "video" must be:
480p -> YES
720p and 1028i -> NO

That's it.... fix everything... This solution works for all kind of dashboards (at least for me).
