Odd Problem...
« on: December 07, 2004, 07:12:00 PM »

Hey fellas how goes it?
I just installed a 616t and it went off without a hitch, thans to X-S.

Anywho, I use UnleashX (the one released in june - 0620) and for some reason now, when Im sitting at the dash, if i hit eject my xbox launches the MS dash.

Its like reset on eject or somthing? It NEVER did this before. All auto launch features are turned off. Anyone have any ideas why my xbox boots to ms dash on eject?

I have a x2pro with xecuter bios as mentioned below. Thanks!

This was also posted in the hardware section...sorry if its a double post but I just wasnt sure where it fit :)

remove any dvds you might have in the dvd drive(s). power off your xbox.  power on your xbox.  let UX loadup. press the eject button.  did it still launch the MS Dash?

Its a bios problem, get one that has the eject fix.  http://xbox-scene.com/bios.php

I believe I have the no reboot on eject version of my bios.

Heres the weird thing:

It doesnt "reset my xbox". It just goes to the UnleashX "LAUNCHING" screen...and launches the MS dash.

This suggests its not a bios issue (at least not the eject fix part of it)

Any more suggestions?

i suggested this because awhile back, i thought i had a problem too.  sometimes when i pressed the eject button on the box, the ms dash would launch.  it seemed rather random to me at first.  i finally realized what was going on...

if you watch a dvd with the ms dash (and prolly any derivative like thc, etc.) and then do an IGR or some other 'soft-reset'...the next time you press the eject button, it will reset the box.  however, this doesn't sound like what's happening to you.  sorry i was no help.

maybe it's a quirk of that dvd-drive replacement...wouldn't hurt to try other bios...
...if you're competent at flashing...
