Received mine today, took me a little to hook it up, as it was the first chip I've ever installed. Not too difficult though. Worst part was getting the D0 connection right, until I went and saw the diagram. And flashing, it wouldn't work with my soft modded drive, so I had to uninstall it, and bring back original MS dash. I'll take another chip, email me (JeremiahCoffel (at) Gmail.com), so I know you still have some, thanks.

the 1.6 is easier than the 1.0 in my mind.

the one thing i hate to see is LPC holes filled with solder.

 

for the 1.6, just remember to tin your contact points on the mobo and rebuild board before you apply the rebuild board. once the contacts are tinned, all you have to do is apply a little pressure with the tip of the iron and it sinks in place. just make sure you line it up properly, and you should be fine.

(edit) i almost forgot...
you may not be able to use the flashbios in the 1.6.
just flash it in your 1.0 if this is an issue.
don't forget to use an M$ controller for flashbios.
many controllers do not work on the menu.
