what's the reason you are looking for xbox paltter only?  i just opened an old IBM 16gb i had laying around there's 4 mirror finished platter in there.  is that not what you are looking for?

First, mirror-finish isn't enough. All hard drive platters have a mirror finish. What I'm looking for is platters that are chrome-colored. Also, I know exactly what Xbox platters look like and cut like. With platters from random drives it can be a tossup as to how well they'll work for what I make.

may I ask why you don't just go buy a piece of sheet metal at Lowes or Home Depot. You could probably make 10-15 roses out of one $6-7 sheet

Yeah my Anandtech thread has been deleted/archived by now, and the SA thread is only available if you have an account there. I need to make a website...

I don't buy sheetmetal because cutting it would be more complicated, and sheetmetal wouldn't have the same awesome finish as hard drive platters.

Three what? Platters or hard drives? Is there any possibility you can get more? The shipping for only 3 of either might make it not worth it. Roses are $40 so whatever the balance is from that.
