Xpod W/80 Gig Hdd, X2.6ce, Blue Led's
« on: October 09, 2005, 01:54:00 AM »

Ok guys. I've had a few delays waiting for parts from here and there, but it's finally ready for sale. I'll have tons of pictures below, but they were taken at night so they don't look very good. Anyway, here's the goods:

This xpod was carefully put together and has THREE silent 80mm blue LED case fans (by Cooler Master). The left fan is intake (with filter), and the other two fans are for exhaust. I also put a Solid Copper MCPX heatsink and clear DVD spindle on the Thomson Drive. It has an X2.6CE modchip with switch mounted on the left, rear of the case. With future upgrades in mind, I only soldered the hdd and LAN activity leads to the board and used a Xenium Solderless adapter on the LPC. This makes it easy to upgrade to a different chip in the future (if needed) or it can be removed completely and reverted back to stock. The xpod looks better in person, but you guys will get to see some pics shortly.

I don't know exactly what to price this bad boy at. I spent a couple hundred on parts (board, PSU, chip, heatsink, DVD drive, case fans, filter, hard drive, etc....) If I get an offer over $300, I'll replace the Thomson drive with a Samsung 605b (w/brand new laser). Anyway, here's the specs:

HARDWARE:

· Clear arcylic Xpod case (purchased from Xport1)
· 1.3 Xbox Motherboard
· Western Digital 80 Gig 7200 RPM Special Edition w/8MB cache
· 1.0-1.5 Delta PSU (no foxlink crap here)
· Solid Copper MCPX Heatsink
· X2.6CE chip w/Xenium Solderless Adapter
· Thomson DVD Drive with Brand new laser
· THREE 80mm Silent case fans w/blue LED's
· Molex power splitter w/Blue LED's
· Blue LED Power/Eject PCB
· Blue LED controller ports (included, but not pictured)
· New, Sealed M$ A/V cables
· New M$ replacement power cord
· New, sealed Intec S-style xbox controller (aftermarket)

Remember, if it sells for over $300, I'll add a Samsung 605b with brand new Laser (instead of the Thomson drive w/new laser).

People on ebay won't appreciate the work that has gone into it. Xport1 did one hell of a job creating the acrylic case. It also has a modchip so I don't wanna risk having my ebay account banned.

Xpod case----------->$67
Motherboard ------->$40
Hard drive ---------->$63
PSU ----------------->$20
Mod Chip------------>$28
Solderless adapter->$12
Silent case fans----->$30
80mm fan filter----->$10
new DVD Laser----->$15
Intec Controller----->$20

I also modded the Power/Eject PCB with Blue/Green LED's
Controller ports Modded w/blue LED's
Spent countless hours putting the case together and fitting everything in nicely
Stuck a SOLID COPPER MCPX heatsink on the motherboard

I'd like to get more than what I spent in parts....

If I get an offer over $300, I'll replace the Tommy drive with a Samsung 605b (with brand new laser installed). I paid $35 for the Sammy drive & stuck a $15 laser in it).

I'd hate to part it out. These cases are very high quality (made by Xport1). If you'd like one, place your order at hotmodz.com . . . it took me over a month to receive my Xpod DIY kit.

As for the fan filter (seen here), they're $5.99 + shipping from frozencpu.com

These are the 80mm case fans I used . . . $9.99 + Shipping EACH from frozencpu.com also.

If you wanna build one yourself.... visit the websites I mentioned.

I'd like to get no less than $300 for everything (+ shipping). I'll also include an X2.xxx programmer with USB cable just in case you wanna change the BIOS on the X2.6CE modchip.

Yes I did.... it's the shiny copper square the right of the modchip
(IMG:http://www.geocities.com/alex548/Xpod1.jpg)

The fins are positioned horizontally so the intake air passes directly over it (better cooling).
