I have a broken Thompson drive. I don't know how to fix it. It doesn't read any discs (shows up as "NO DISC" on the dashboard). I'm guessing it's a laser - I have no idea. I tried to open it to tweak the POT but it didn't help.
This drive used to work about 1-2 months ago, so I am not sure what happened. I'm sure someone who knows what they are doing can fix it.
THIS DRIVE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE XBOX PLASTIC COVERING ON THE DVD TRAY.
ALSO - when you open the DVD drive there are 2 ribbons that connect to the circuitboard. These ribbons release via a small plastic piece that "pulls out". The small plastic piece on the smaller ribbon cable broke in half but can still slide in to keep the ribbon secure and in place.
