Lay the solder braid across a row of pins, heat up the solder wick at one end and gradully pull up on the braid as you move the iron down the braid. It absorbs the excess solder.
Be careful!
1. You do not want to heat it up too long in one spot, for it will cook the pads right the PCB.
2. You do not want to pull to soon or too late, having the solder cool down and have the pads be soldered to the braid.
