I'm having ftp problems but different then the others.
first i'm launching mxm from evox(if it makes a difference)
when I ftp to my box(using fxp(tried passive and not), my xbox freezes.
I'm using a static ip 192.168.1.200
GW:192.200.1.1, snmask:255.255.255.0
Basically my networks setup is the same as it was in evox.

I tried the priority and the time sync thing but no luck.

thanks in advance for any help.

To: BenJeremy- this dash rules, it makes all others look boring thanks

I have a problem playing gta 3 and vice city with mxm 0.9n.6. it gets to the initial load screen then locks. whether it is off a dvd-r or the hard drive, it won't work.

Solution: Go into MS Dashboard and set the clock (or pick up a clock fix actionscript and set it up as a menu item)

Dunno why the clock checking routine isn't working. Must still be some secrets the Xbox isn't giving up yet. sad.gif

OK I was having big troubles makeing a multigame DVD.. and still am... it works... but it takes SOOO Long to come up to the MENU it's rediculus... I have somewhat the same problem from the hard drive.. I have all my items configured in my MXM.XML... and NO autodir stuff... but if I turn off menu_cachinig (which I f**king hate anyway - yes it's very nice for n00bs and lazy people.. but irritating for me)  anyway.. when I turn it off.. my xbox takes like 5 minutes to boot to the menu screen... I didn't have that trouble with 0.9n.5... don't know if it's a bug or not.. but just wanted to mention it...

Thank you.

There's some type of error being produced with the LaunchDVD action.  I was using it in one of my scripts and it gave the typical "ERROR (line 1): (callfile) "ActionScript file failed execution".  At frist I thought it was the scripting but I replace the LaunchDVD with EXEC D:Default.xbe and the script no longer displayed the error.

Hi, I upgraded from 9n4 to 9n6. Then the ftp problems started, it would just freeze.  Tried numerous screens, settings, all to no avail.  V1 box with xecuter2 bios4976, flashfxp, 192.168.1.100 static. Gateway blank...
reverted back to 9n4, problems gone.
Just a thought though, I only replaced the default xbe of mxm, should I have also replaced the biosmd5?
 uhh.gif

eh.. the bios md5 is only used to display the correct bios informatin on your screen.. assuming that the skin supports it..

replacing the default.xbe should have been enough....

FTP is under microscopic scrutiny as BJ is working on fixing it up good...

Although.. I don't have lockups on mine anymore...

I've heard that if you disable your timesync in the mxm.xml that it will cure your problem...

however.. I have mine turned on and my ftp works fine...

The timesync on/off thing is mostly for the long time it takes to complete the "final initialization" when starting mxm.   If you have a invalid or unreachable IP set in this setting, or maybe none at all.. the the time to finish loading might take up to 10 seconds...this is with timeserver ON in the system menu.

I havent heard of it having any effect on FTP though.

blink.gif

I've just started working for a new client (my day job is as a software engineer for a large company that provides computer-related services), and I've had to spend a great deal of time away from my desk, on site at a big 3 automaker's development facility. It's cool, interesting work, but keeping me very busy, as well as shortening my day with a 2-3 hour commute (roundtrip)

As it is, I've been filling some of my spare time away from a desktop with internet access working on White Papers for MXM enhancements and I've got a digital voice recorder to take notes on the road.

Some very cool things are afoot, though much of it is nuts-and-bolts kind of stuff, making MXM work a bit faster and smoother.

mxm locks up after 3-5 minutes. just stops moving and no buttons work. i'm not sure if it only happens in this istuation, but it always happens if i leave it in the games menu and the preview movie is playing.

Hey Ben.
Just found out some interesting things.
I love your dashboard... run it on my favorite xbox.
Been playing around with unleash X too.
There's a problem with Max Payne 2 freezing up at the 90% bar after clicking "Detective" in the game.
I've gone thru everything else on patching, to hard drive play etc... Only one Xbox in my house played the game. Then I hooked up my 3rd with Unleash X just to play with that menu. It ran it also. My friends that I modded their xboxs for them, and gave them the much improved Media X Menu instead of the Evolution X dashboards on the older mods I've done, experience the same freezing. So, I took each xbox that froze, took off MXM, and voila. It doesn't freeze anymore.
That's odd.
I've been backing up games for a long time, and trust me. I tried *everything* to get it to work on my friends xbox. I didn't know it wouldn't work on the one I had in my living room till I took the original Max Payne 2 game, and it wouldn't load either on *any* MXM menu xbox. Till I replaced it. :-(
Short fix for the time being.

Lemme know what you think is up. HOpe this helps you out bud

Strange... It could be the NTSC/PAL code. I'll have to mess around with that and see what's happening.

Hey there. I live in US. I've tried both copies. Downloaded PAL copy, works on non mxm boxes. I rented the NTSC copy. Works on non mxm boxes. Very strange :-(
Damn, I wish I was better at graphic arts. I want to see some nice skins for your dashboard. There are some, but there could be SO many more good ones. So much to work with :-)
Just thought I'd add that more info so that you knew I was trying both PAL *and* NTSC

CODE
Copy D\:blah.pos C\:blahpos

It will not overwrite the file C\:blah.pos if it exists, it causes the actionscript to actually error. Was wondering why, EvoX simply overwrites a file if you tell it to copy over somethin, and the actionscript errors?

2. I have found what I hope is a workaround with a lengthy script, but was wondering if there is a way for MXM to just copy stuff from disk to HD and overwrite the file?

3. I also noticed files copied from a disk to HD are Read-Only and you have to ChMod them to 777 in the sript why does it do this?

4. When using thhe following actionscript commands
CODE
_CallScript PROMPTFORMAT C\: or _PrepDrive

`JLM has tested and noticed that it runs perfect, but the selected drive is not always formatted. Do you know why it would do this ?

Thanks for your replies and time...

Yes, but the "Cherry Patch" is installed regardless.... I have corrected that here, and it will no longer patch the BIOS in the release version, if you are not using the PAL/NTSC switching.

Ok umm couple of things here, not sure if this a bug report or more along the lines of questions....

1. When using the following actionscript command

It will not overwrite the file C:blah.pos if it exists, it causes the actionscript to actually error. Was wondering why, EvoX simply overwrites a file if you tell it to copy over somethin, and the actionscript errors?

Thanks for your replies and time...

1. Was the file Read-Only? On a side note, I may add ONERROR to the next release, which will allow you to handle the situation better and MXM aborting the script.

2. Perhaps... I'll make a note to investigate the option.

3. That's because the original files were read-only. Evo-X does the same thing, actually. There is an "attr" command that should work easier, BTW, as it works on nested levels.

4. Possibly because MXM is using a file from C: when it attempts this?
