Hi BenJeremy,

I had that problem with newsfeed rotating. It works now with the .3 release.

Thanks, you're great!!

I spotted the problem with bad newsfeeds... I changed it so it will only retry every 5 minutes if it fails.

Thats great for those that have an isolated box.  smile.gif

Here's another working one:

ArsTechnica , a good geek site

<Newsfeed name="user3">
<Global>True</Global>
<RotateChannels>True</RotateChannels>
<URL>http://arstechnica.com/etc/rdf/ars.rdf</URL>
<UpdateIntervalMin>10</UpdateIntervalMin>
<RotateItemInterval>5</RotateItemInterval>
</Newsfeed>

I can't get these to work, HardOCP and Shacknews, both RDF feeds.

<Newsfeed name="user4">
<Global>True</Global>
<RotateChannels>True</RotateChannels>
<URL>http://www.hardocp.com/hardocp.rdf</URL>
<UpdateIntervalMin>10</UpdateIntervalMin>
<RotateItemInterval>5</RotateItemInterval>
</Newsfeed>
<Newsfeed name="user5">
<Global>True</Global>
<RotateChannels>True</RotateChannels>
<URL>http://www.shacknews.com/headlines.rdf</URL>
<UpdateIntervalMin>10</UpdateIntervalMin>
<RotateItemInterval>5</RotateItemInterval>
</Newsfeed>

Hey!!! Stop the presses, here's one more:  Another Useless Website headlines, for what it's worth.

http://anotheruseles...com/backend.php

I didn't think it would work, it did!

The site I run is a pretty vanilla PHP-Nuke 6.5 install, so I figure that means that any nuke site should work ok for the newsfeeds in the skins.  That accounts for a very large number of websites, let me tell you.

Is there a problem with your network settings?

Well, if Evo-X has different network settings, it can upset the balance when switching between the two programs.

I'm going to dig into the networking mysteries soon to clean thos up once and for all. Obviously, the System UI will allow you to edit those onscreen, too.

Interesting, Because I remember going into Evox when I discovered MXM was keyboard compatible (Allthough with several limitations). I wanted to see if Evox was aswell. Just to save a few people some time, It isn't.

My solution to this problem is just deleting the Newsfeed settings in my mxm.xml.

Well, you could just synchronize the network settings between them.

My system is thrown into confusion when I switch between my Debug BIOS and 4977... because when I run Evo-X, it rapes my Debug BIOS's network settings.

The Debug BIOS emulates TWO network cards... one for debugging between the BIOS and the XDK, and another for the application's usage. Evo-X does something funky to them. sad.gif

The XKD Launcher has complete network settings, though... so I will be playing with those, and comparing the results I get from the internal routines in MXM. This will allow me to better map out these settings and get network support solid (and open sourced!!).

rolleyes.gif ) so I wouldn't think this would 'confuse' anything to say .

Could it be that my DCHP setting upsetted something . Never the less it solved it by rebooting . A small price to pay . It all works now .  wink.gif

I use it to flash my BIOS time to time.

and i use avalaunch to download save games.

Hopefully mxm will be able to do these things soon, so there really wont be any need for evox, or really any other dash.

CODE

So when one has many newsfeeds it would display "X-S:" (for xbox scene) infront of each news item. That way we know where it comes from.

Then it would perhaps look something like this:

"X-S: Game Size Editor v1.6"
"X-S: Fceultra V6"
"AXS: Livewire"
"AXS: Black box"

Would it be possible to add some sort of description tag? Say like this:

That's a good idea. I'm still hashing out a number of ways to spin the newsfeeds to suit most everybody.

I have a cheapmod so I'm using Pheonix Bios Loader (which works great) BJ will be incorp. this in his own code.

I take it you don't have ftp going on sad.gif although this would be a nice feature . I'm sure it's on the bottum of the list .

This would be a awesome add-in . Confusion would no longer exist on which site it comes from . Nice request . beerchug.gif

Ohh no, I do. It's just easier to do things from the xbox.

I hope you can edit and menu.xml and the mxm.xml though MXM in future releases. That would make life easier, But thats not to important at the moment.
