I would love to be able to get to my settings (clock...video mode...sound) without having to switch to the original dashboard. Is there anything in the works for this feature maybe?

What about a way to set the system clock manually?  Right now I have to go into xboxwatch, and it's NTP-only.  My internet at my house has been down since Friday so I haven't been able to get to an NTP server, and I've been wanting to play KOTOR but it keeps messing up because the time is set to the year 8029 or something. hehe.

I ended up putting my old MS hard drive in and setting the time through the msdash, then putting my new hard drive in and it worked OK, but this is kind of a pain.  An option in the mxm configuration menu to manually change the time would be sweet.

And, on a side note, THANK YOU for coming up with the best dash ever.  I'm loving this, man!

If you have a Windows 2000 machine, you can set up Simple Internet Services on it and point your MXM's time sunchronization to it. That's what I do wink.gif

Does this mean we won't be getting the ability to set the clock through MXM with this release?  sad.gif  I was really looking forward to that feature maybe being implemented....Anyway, I know it's a lot to ask for and I sure couldn't do anything even close to what you have acclompished, many thanks for the great dashboard

Well, that feature, manually setting the time, is waiting for the new UI.

Trust me, it's for the best these features wait for a "proper" UI - it will set a new bar for all dashboards, when done.

BASIC support seems kind of outdated to me.  Have you considered Flash support?  This would be much more efficient for the kind of things you're expecting people to want to do.  It already supports actionscripts and would make doing graphical stuff a lot easier than BASIC would.

Just a thought.  I don't have a clue how you would implement it. hehe.

I'm working on a  MxM-based Installer, and what would be a very nice option for that is a simple zip decompression smile.gif

The features I would like to see:
- Limited form of web browsing
- POP3 Notification
- IM client of sorts
- 3-D elements for skinners
- Handle game saves from xboxsaves.com
- Game save manager
- transparancy
- File explorermanager
- Game uninstall

(FireFucker that is the best avatar EVER)

What sort of transparency do you want?  Because MXM already supports transparent PNG's, DDS's, boxes, text, lines, etc.

Guys, please...

There seems to be a surge of requests for unrealistic features right now (i.e. online gaming support, instant messengers, web browsers, the ability to play XBOX games through your work computer).

These silly requests are taking focus off of real and logical requests like disabling the Y button and even game-save management.

This is all my opinion of course, but I think most of us "hardcore" MXMers would agree that we don't want our serious and plausible requests being overshadowed by the sheer number of other, more wacky requests.

So if you make a request for a feature, please think if it's anywhere within the scope of MXM right now before you post it.

- Limited form of web browsing is coming.. there is already a simple download client in the latest WIP.
- Game uninstall - Simple to do with action scripting and context menus- I might make this one myself in the next couple days.

Disabling the system menu is in the latest WIP.
You could also have two menu.xmls, once for your kids one for youself.  use action script to swap the two files.  (you would stilll need one password protected menu in the kids version to allow you to switch back to your version)

It's a KNOWN issue. The X2 BIOS, modified for "Big F:" with the LBA48 patch does not work.

The M7 with this patch seems to work.

MXM also works fine with a "normal" F: and a G: filling the remainder.

Technically, I think this is a bug with the patch and how it's applied.

The problem is already fixed and tested for the next release, when it comes out (hopefully by the end of the week).

  • Screen Calibrate (Will this mean we wont lose the edges like everything does?)
  • Arrange games and other items by the amount of times played, or even by last played
  • More SITE implementation, especially LAUNCH xbe
