Wanted: Dvd-rw With High Success Rate
« on: October 30, 2002, 05:35:00 PM »

Hi, I can't set up my damn ftp but when I do I will need some blank media for back-ups.  I want to buy some good media for Xbox.  Also, does loading a back up take a few tries?  I was wondering why so many peeps use HD's.  My PS2 works everytime.

Thanks

I only want offers to sell to me from people with a lot of first hand experience so they can give me an actual success rate.  I want to be the only newb involved in the deal, lol.

I use the cheap generics from Hypermicro
there on the page as part#"GENERIC DVD-R MEDIA  P/N: GEN-DVD-R-SS" - 50 for $43.50 - I ordered ups ground and they fedex'ed them anyway- I literally received them next day from chicago - 2 duds in a stack of 50, and at least one of them was operator error.

using pioneer 104+ prassi primo dvd 2.0, burning at 1x for xbox ( these *will* go 2x - but I'm more worried about reliability than burning speed)

Try Dvdpro media (the cheap stuff works great) at http://meritline.com/

The truth is that it depends on your burner, the media, the drive in your Xbox, and the method you use to burn...  Yes, lots of variables!
