After I fried my motherboard trying to install my Xenium, I sent it to MidSouth and cap did a wonderful job fixing it up. New mobo, xenium install, Bios flash, XBMC, the works. Great installer and extremely helpful! Highly recommended.

grr.gif Unfortunately, I cannot report a satisfactory experience with this vendor.  I would urge customers to look elsewhere before giving this vendor your cash.  The vendor stole $400, never shipped me a product, and has failed to refund me or ship a product; despite being found at fault by paypal.  The vendor has also been extremely insulting and disrespectful over e-mail.

For details, read on:

First, I have a number of moded Xboxes, both selfmod and premod.  I have never had any problems with the other vendors.  Based on some posts to this board, I decided to try midsouthmods -- I wanted a large HD for XBMC and minimal hassle.  I ordered the $400 box.  I knew it could be risky to go with an unknown vendor, but I checked the reviews here, and since I spend several thousand dollars on these sorts of things each year, $400 was a small risk to take.

The order was placed, and payment cleared on 10/30 (TX ID 02T05970LE703092P).  On 11/3, I got an e-mail from Andrew (the proprietor), claiming that his paypal account had been hacked and that he could not get access to the money I had paid him.  This was the first red flag.

I made it clear that I expected product or refund, as I had no proof that he had been "hacked", and that was a problem on his end anyway.

On 11/6, Andrew e-mailed me to say that he now had access to the money, and that the order would ship on 11/8.  He promised to give me a tracking number.

By 11/14, I had still received no response, so I e-mailed Andrew asking for the tracking number.  On 11/15 he replied with some excuses about being away, and then told me that my order had shipped, but had no tracking number.  He claimed that a "new guy" had shipped the order and "forgot" to get a tracking number.  He said the post office was "overwhelmed".  He was a fount of excuses.  He asked me to inform him by 11/17 if it had not been received, and promised to resubmit at that time if the order was not received.

On 11/17, I replied as promised.  He ignored me, and I repeated my requests for product or refund on both 11/20 and 11/24.  He continued to ignore me, and I was forced to file a claim with paypal.

The claim got his attention, and he e-mailed paypal accusing me of trying to get a box for free.  I had given him the option of either refunding or sending me another box, but the only option that pleased him was to steal my money.  He stated, in these exact words, "I don't know where your order is".

Paypal investigated, and found him to be at fault, but he has blocked them from recovering my money.

These are the details.  I would be happy to provide more detailed evidence of the truly horrible attitude of this seller, and more proof of all of this if anyone is unfortunate enough to deal with this character.

My next steps are to report this to mail fraud and interstate commerce fraud investigators, and pursue in small claims court.  I think it is very unlikely that I will ever recover the $400, but I am budgeting large amounts of time and money for myself to pursue this and make sure that this seller never rips off another customer again.  If anyone else has experienced problems with this seller, please e-mail me, and we can combine our efforts at seeking justice.

Thank You

I recently messed up my bottom d0 point and lifted a trace while modding my 1.6.  I saw the post from allenjs which made me nervous about sending my stuff out to Midsouthmods.  Cap seemed very knowledgeable on this stuff and from the posts I saw in the TeamXodus website forums many people had recomended his services. I said screw it I'll try him out, my box is busted already what harm can it do? He suggested I send only the MB and HD to save $$ on shipping, so i did, 1 weekend turn-arround and I have my box back in working order with all needed software installed.  I would highly recomend MidSouth for any of you modding needs, this guy is professional and very fast! I don't know what happened to the last poster, but my experience was the complete opposite.  HE EVEN SHIPPED MY STUFF BACK TO ME BEFORE I PAID HIM!!! Thank you Cap, I will recomend you to all my friends.
