I ordered an xecuter lite 2.3b + from mods4less on 18 February. I received it that Saturday (3 day turnaround was not too shabby). Being that it was my first mod attempt, I went with a solderless chip. I figured "Align the chip, get three lights, and I'm good to go". It only took me about 25 minutes to get all three lights signalling a good alignment. Powered on my Xbox and got Power on/Power off three times followed by a FRAG. Over and over again, no matter what I did those were my results. I read that this could be caused by a bad alignment with the d0 or by a bad flash on the chip.
So, after running into my initial troubles with the chip I immediately emailed mods4less. No response. I jumped on their IRC channel and got no response from anyone in there either other than a guy who was also there to ask questions (who also was having no luck getting any responses though he'd been checking in all day). I finally received an email response from them on the following Tuesday directing me to join their "live support chat" (i.e. to join the IRC channel that I previously had received no responses in).
Being that this was my first install I figured "maybe I messed my Xbox up". So I got my Xbox looked at by a professional. It got a clean bill of health. The chip on the other hand did not. It was D.O.A. It couldn't even be reflashed. So I emailed mods4less again asking what I needed to do to get a refund. No response. I emailed again repeating my inquiry. By the time they decided to answer me this is what I got:
"Dear Sir,
We are sorry, the return/exhange period time has passed. Please read our policies on returns.
Regards
Mods4less.com"
Nice. Well of course the return window has closed. You guys waited to answer me until the window was closed and now I'm stuck with a worthless piece of silicon. Even though I immediately tried to get this solved through your own channels of communication I'm left to foot the bill thanks to your refusal to conduct decent customer service. Thanks for relieving me of the back pain that that extra $60 was causing me by weighing my wallet down.
The good reports that I read in this very thread are what made me decide to do business with mods4less (the negative reports weren't here or as numerous when I first read this thread). Those reading in on this thread take this account and the other negative accounts above into consideration before you decide to do business with this group of folks.
