I ordered my chip jan. 9th Knowing full well that it has been out of stock everywhere. Jan. 22nd comes around.. shipped. I think that is was plenty prompt for the situation with the chip.

So I am pleased. Thanks

I joined thier irc channel yesterday inquiring about my order. They said it would ship tommorow - the next day I recieved an email saying my order has been shipped. Great support! They said it would take a week so we'll see how it goes.

(should i put in my email that i will take legal action? make them answer it then)

01/20/04 - Ordered 20 X2.3b Lites
01/23/04 - Joined their IRC chat and asked when my order was to be shipped
01/24/04 - Order shipped
01/27/04 - Recieved chips today

Wow! That was fast! Great communication too (fast and w/ results). Took one week total. My previous order was with xbox-modchips.com - they took two weeks. Looks like mods4less is also called "Electronics 4 Less". I did a quick google search and it looks like they used to sell laptops - possibly also a computer business.

My only gripe is that it was shipped "Flat Rate" via USPS priority mail (mods4less calls it "Best Way" shipping which happens to be thier only method). I mean I love how fast it came in the mail but it was really minimum packing. There was no bubble wrap, I had 20 chips crammed in one envelope, and the only thing protecting them was the pink cushion pouches all Xecuters come with. Now I could understand how a previous poster here got a broken switch. I'll let you all know if installs goes smoothly.

I highly recommend these guys! If you ever have any problems just hop on to their IRC room on their homepage to find out whats going on. I think I was able to reach him 3 or 4am PST.

Ordered a 2.3 lite from them on the 22nd of  january after their news said their chips were in.  Arrived on the 29th.  Not bad considering they were backed up on pre orders for like a month...

via this experience, I would do again.

I would like to say that this is the worst site i have ever been 2. I ordered from them using a credit card (yes the page did have a verisign logo on it but maybe it was fake) and no matter what I did it said transaction declined, so I got my brother to help me out (I'm only 14) and we still couldn't get it so I got my dad who is a computer whiz to try and we still got declined. the next day the CIBC FRAUD SQUAD! phoned and said that I had purchased the modchip 6 times costing me $500 dollars

I ordered X2 pro on Jan 7,2004 took two weeks to get it ,After installing it it would not flash,I tried flashing with the cable and still would not flash after trying for hours to flash I reinspected the the chip and found that the ribbon connecter was soldered to the X2 pro backwards...I emailed tech support for two weeks before they sent a email back and that was only after I said I was calling the credit card company....

I spent another week to 10 days emailing back and forth with a tech and still could
not get it working so he ofered a RMA to send me a new on after I send the bad one back So I sent it back the next day that was over two weeks ago...
I've emailed them 4 or 5 times in the last three days (today is 2/20/2004) and they have not returned my email yet.....So all you people that say you haven't had any problems you are the lucky ones......The first order I made with them took two weeks to get.....I WILL NEVER EVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN!!!!!!!! Nor will I recommend them for anything.....My TWO Cents!!!!

ANd if you don't beleive me I can produce for you every email I sent to them and every email that was sent from them.....
I've bought 100's if not 1000's of chips from other venders and never have I had such bad customer service from a vender....

Pjmaxx,

I'm not sure what more we can do for you as we've told you your replacement was shipped out via USPS first class mail already. I'm sorry for the miscommunication.

I ordered an xecuter lite 2.3b + from mods4less on 18 February.  I received it that Saturday (3 day turnaround was not too shabby).  Being that it was my first mod attempt, I went with a solderless chip.  I figured "Align the chip, get three lights, and I'm good to go".  It only took me about 25 minutes to get all three lights signalling a good alignment.  Powered on my Xbox and got Power on/Power off three times followed by a FRAG.  Over and over again, no matter what I did those were my results.  I read that this could be caused by a bad alignment with the d0 or by a bad flash on the chip.

So, after running into my initial troubles with the chip I immediately emailed mods4less.  No response.  I jumped on their IRC channel and got no response from anyone in there either other than a guy who was also there to ask questions (who also was having no luck getting any responses though he'd been checking in all day).  I finally received an email response from them on the following Tuesday directing me to join their "live support chat" (i.e. to join the IRC channel that I previously had received no responses in).

Being that this was my first install I figured "maybe I messed my Xbox up".  So I got my Xbox looked at by a professional.  It got a clean bill of health.  The chip on the other hand did not.  It was D.O.A.  It couldn't even be reflashed.  So I emailed mods4less again asking what I needed to do to get a refund.  No response.  I emailed again repeating my inquiry.  By the time they decided to answer me this is what I got:

"Dear Sir,

We are sorry, the return/exhange period time has passed.  Please read our policies on returns.

Regards
Mods4less.com"

Nice.  Well of course the return window has closed.  You guys waited to answer me until the window was closed and now I'm stuck with a worthless piece of silicon.  Even though I immediately tried to get this solved through your own channels of communication I'm left to foot the bill thanks to your refusal to conduct decent customer service.  Thanks for relieving me of the back pain that that extra $60 was causing me by weighing my wallet down.

The good reports that I read in this very thread are what made me decide to do business with mods4less (the negative reports weren't here or as numerous when I first read this thread). Those reading in on this thread take this account and the other negative accounts above into consideration before you decide to do business with this group of folks.
