Well they claim they will be receiving their next shipment of the chips between Jan 12-14. AND COULD be sending out the backorders by the 16th. I will give them to the 16th, then say screw it and cancel my order. If they have lied or mislead up until now, it isn't going to get better or faster by then. It will put my wait time at over 2 weeks, and considering they blow people off after not being honest, charge the cards, and threaten to remove you to bottom of wait list or not send if you ask, it's just not worth rewarding ethics like that. I'll start the wait over somewhere else and take another chance.
Too bad the worst you can do to company's like this is spread your experience, you'd think places that pull this should have some sort of control device to keep them in check. The most they get is a "shame on you", and with the prices they charge they grin and bear it all the way to the bank.

Lesson is, you don't ALWAYS get what you pay for, so bargain shopping isn't so bad.

Good prices??? They're prices are ridiculous.  The only benefit for us Canadians would be a cheaper shipping costs, but it's still $5 shipping and the site I'm using is $10.  Not really a big deal.

These people must be on crack. Today is the 14th, the last day the new shipment of x2 chips was to arrive. Well SURPRISE SURPRISE, there is a catch. According to their "info" page, since they are too busy to talk to anyone:

"Jan 14th - All x2lites have been shipped except cod orders, if you have a cod x2 LITE forward us your order confirmation to [email protected] and let us know if we should ship it out.

Jan 14 - We expect plus and pro stock Jan 19th."

So after waiting almost 2 weeks for this carrot, it's a switch. The shipment was only for x2 LITES, how convenient they don't state that till the last day of the promised day of arrival. So everyone that ordered pro's or pluses, which I imagine is the bulk of what was ordered, must follow another carrot until Jan 19th. SO fine, I don't feel like getting hosed by another "company" and deal with the credit card nightmare this will become if possible, so I will wait until Jan 19th. I wish this wasn't online business. In the real world, company's that do this will compensate you for their BS, whether out of shame, losing local business, or because they TRULY feel empathy for the situation. What are the odds they will knock down their prices, which I haven't heard one person say they are low? Pay for the difference in super fast shipping? Well I'm willing to bet I won't even hear from an actual person once the shipment is ready OR sent. Why you ask? Cause people like this don't give a rat's ass, and it has been apparent since I placed the order.
I'd love to be proven wrong, but it's long past the point where it can be said it was all a mistake.
To the people who HAVEN'T ordered here, I strongly suggest to take your business elsewhere, anywhere. I can't guarantee it will be better, but I sure can't see any possible way it would be worse.

I've actually just mailed modchip.ca asking them to cancel my order after having my card charged for over a week and a half without any product shipped.

I'd rather wait and deal with someone more honest than these guys.

Ordered my X2.3b lite on Dec. 29th and I just got it today. Just to let folks know that they are shipping and not ripping people off.

well that's great that more than 2 weeks later you got your "LITE". Ripping off, well we don't know that we AREN'T going to get our chips yet. Problem is this: they claim to be the most honest dealer out there on their info page, that they don't mislead on times for arrival. Upon ordering our chips recently, ALL of us were deceived in that they said in stock at the time. They have been vague about dates, changed them a few times already, cost more than any reseller I've seen so far, and full out stated "don't email us if you don't get it when you are supposed to, or else we can ship you last or not ship you at all." This was paraphrased of course, but that's what it says, right on their info page.
Finally, you DID receive your LITE, but what about all the other people that ordered LITE PLUS'S or PRO'S. You know, the ones that weren't told THAT shipment wasn't coming in on the 12-14. So I guess this all depends on what you call a rip-off. Paying for something and never getting it as part of a plan is a rip-off. But how about paying a premium on something you order, being "misled" as to it's availability, being told not to ask, and being charged weeks before it's even shipped? To me, that's also a rip-off, I'm not getting what I paid for. For the high price they charge, you'd think honesty and customer service would be a given. And checking out other resellers comments here, I'd say other's have paid less, gotten their product when told, and been handled like customers, not like beggers. I hate to sound irate, but I am. We are left complaining here as if we mail it to them, they will screw us more. Wouldn't want to give them an excuse to put us bottom of the shipping list in order or not sent what we've already paid for, as their email and info page clearly states.

December 18th 2003 I ordered the new X2.3bpro they promised that it would arrive before Christmas if we ordered it with FedEx Next Day Service (which I did) December 24th no chip, no reply's to my e-mail that was sent to the twice. December 29th I get a reply from them saying that it was an error on there part and they will reimburse me the difference for my shipping cost.  Jan 16th 2004 still no refund.  Also I got the wrong parallel port adapter (black) not the blue one.  But on there defense it was not there fault.   Now, I have more details to conclude but I don't want this post being 2 pages long.  I honestly believe that fucken suck (as a company) and they don't really know how to treat there customers.  Now I might get flamed but whatever this is how I feel or I might be 1 out of 100 customers that they fucked up on and I am really pissed off.  But I wanted to know am I the only one here or are there other people that are having problems with them ?

Thanks
ScarEye

Oh yea I am so pissed off that I didn't even spell "hate" correctly in " God I have Modchip.ca "

ok ive already left some comments on this site but to just update my situation i emailed this guy and asked if he could just switch the x2.3blite+ (what i ordered) to the xenium chip since i would prob. get it faster and he agreed to do it. Even though the price diff. was a few $$ more that way but he still did it! I totally agree the site is misleading but like i said in the previous post all my emails are answered same day i will update later on the shipping of the chip the site says "now in stock" so maybe it will be sent out today or monday or maybe its just that damn site being misleading again lmao

Well I guess it is time for an update.  I ordered my 2.3b lite + way back on December 22, 2003 when the website said "Fully in Stock".  I was looking forward to the chip being shipped on January 19, 2004 after the ETA has been changed about 4 times.  Imagine my surprise when I checked the website and the ETA was changed yet again, now to January 23.  I paid for express shipping when the mod chip was supposibly in stock and now it will be a month and still no mod chip.  Now I did not receive any notice that the chip was not being shipped or that there were any delays until I emailed them asking what was going on.  Oh and my credit card has been charged for the last month.  When the found out that the delays were going to be this long the least they could have done was refund the charges until they had the product to shipp.  I am also annoyed that they are not going to refund the extra money I paid for express shipping since in my opinion getting the product over a month late is NOT express shipping.  I would not recommend this company to anyone ever again.  If you want to find out more about my nightmares with this comapany before you try to order from them feel free to drop me a line at

Well I just checked their info page, I don't see anything about the 23rd. If does now say shipping backorder could take from the 19th to the 20th, when before it just said the 19th. I checked on their home page, nothing, and even added a few chips to my cart, they all just say "backordered". Today (tonight) is the 19th, and tomorrow is the 20th. So I expect to see it being in the hands of the shipping company tomorrow. If not, I'm cancelling my order, no turning back, as well as leaving a slew of four letter words in that same email. IMO all of us in the backorder boat might as well cancel if we don't see proof tomorrow it's on it's way to us. Imagine everyone that has been precharged on these (and lied to and ignored) cancelling at once. Teach a bad company a good lesson. And with so many of us here pointing out what's been going on, you think they will still have the same xbox business? Anyone have any suggestions for a company with good service and these lite pluses and pro's in stock?

It only gets better. New to their info page:

"All non - cod Plus orders before December 31 2003 should ship and the remainder of the plus chips will be used to fill the 2004 orders. Basically if your not seeing trackiing infrormation with your tracking number by Thusday Jan 22 (if you used Fedex the package will be there Wednesday) then that means your order is not going to ship out till yet the next shipment ."

So I "SHOULD" be able to see (not in hand) my order by the 22nd. Experience is telling me I possibly won't even get that.
And just because we just can't help but have more good times with this place, their is ANOTHER update on their info page:

"IF YOUR ORDER DOES NOT SHOW RESULTS BY THURSDAY THEN IT WONT GO OUT TILL NEXT STOCK ARRIVES WHEN FACTORY OPENS AROUND JANUARY 30TH. If you want to cancel the order email [email protected] with message subject CANCEL there will be a $8 fee to reverse the charge to cover merchant fees for processing. There is no charge to upgrade to the Xenium check it out you will be happy you did!"

Translation: if we haven't screwed you enough times by now, how about we screw you more. You can have option a, wait until you forget what an xbox is, or give us more money for another chip that we claim is in stock. There is option C, which is acknowledge that we screwed you and ask for your money back. Your conselation prize will consist of you giving us money for screwing you, $8 to be precise, but you no longer have to wait for the chip.

Does anyone else here wish they lived next door to these guys and didn't mind building up a criminal record?

I am cancelling my order with this guy and going to one of the better reviewed mechants on this forum. Also, the $8 reversal fee is B.S. I spoke with people at Visa and they said if that wasn't in the agreement when you purchased the item, then he can't add to the contract after you have made the purchase. Also I was told by them that he should have charged us for the chips when they were in stock, not weeks before he even had them.

Well I'd like to track my order tomorrow, didn't someone say earlier they had the phone # to this place (I don't want the owners, just the actual business)? If you track through their system, they say it is faulty and to call them, and if you call them and you are in the US, then it's long distance....etc. The circle of "screw you" we've become accustomed to. I'd like to HONESTLY know if my order is being shipped tomorrow, cause I am no longer going to wait for the umpteenth carrot on the stick. Funny thing I'd like to point out, after my post implying a cancel order boycott, that's when the info page was updated with the $8 screw you more for cancelling fee. I have a feeling they are monitoring this page. And if that is how they reply to fix the situation, then gut instincts tell me my order will be especially F'ed.  I will most likely be dealing with my credit card company tomorrow, sending proof of how I was charge almost a month before the item was in stock, and the plethora of other BS they poured on top. It's  all chronicled here (with plenty of other testimonies), as well as emails and their own info page. I suggest none of us cancel through them and take more in the keister from them than we already have. Hope you are listening Modchip.ca, we shall be having some fun tomorrow.

I placed my order on the 27th of December and am STILL yet to receive my order. I was first told that it would ship by the 29th of December however that didn't happen. It has been delayed and delayed. I do acknowledge the fact that there is low stock and very high demand. However, I didn't appreciate getting told that the product was in stock when it really wasn't. I have read of other people receiving their chips as of this date. I was told that if my order was placed before December 31st that it would've been shipped on the 20th. I live very close to this business and, from previous experiences, shipping took less than 24 hours. Either Canada Post screwed up,... Or my chip was not sent as I was told it would've. Time to keep my fingers crossed.

UPDATE: 1.22.04
Could've guessed.... I got screwed again!! No product. So now what? Do I have to wait another month?

PS: Im with you Rob.
